I have just purchased Dragon Knight Saga on Steam and I am unable to play this game as everything is displayed upside-down in fullscreen mode. I only saw the reversed intro movies and start menus as I cannot not go further in this game.

I have tried to change the game resolution and graphic settings (from 1920x1080 high to 1024x768 low), to verify game cache integrity in Steam, to reboot the computer without any success. In windowed mode, the game is displayed correctly.

This issue only affect Drago Knight Saga; all the other Steam or non-Steam games I own work fine.

My computer details are: Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 3.33 GHz, 3 GB RAM, ATI Radeon Mobility HD 4850 with 10.7 drivers, Windows XP SP3, DirectX 9.0c. Dragon Age Saga version is 1.4.9.70.

If anyone has an idea concerning this issue, thanks in advance.

This issue has been resolved in this forum thread.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I know as I have created the op. However, this is not really a solution as there is no drivers more recent than 10.7 for my Mobility chipset on Windows XP, even on AMD support web site.

Hi,
I actually have the same problem than the OP. I use windows XP on an apple and I got Ego Draconis 2 form Steam. When I launch it the game appears upside down too.

While I was trying stuff to get it back to normal, I noticed that, if you click on the cmd button on the keyboard (the cmd button is the one also known as apple button / windows button. Anyway it's between the space bar and the alt button) it reduces the game and takes you back to the desktop. If you click on the game on the taskbar to get it back on screen, the game will come back corrected (meaning upside up and fullscreen).
You have to do it everytime you launch the game.

I hope it works for you too, enjoy the game!

P.s: oh and shame to ATI-AMD for the lack of drivers for people like you and me... (there is a catalyst for bootcamp users downloadable on their site dating from june 2010 but it doesn't correct this issue).

P.p.s: I'm unable to post the same answer ont the steam forum (I just made an account for this right now and the activation link in the email hasn't done its job up to now). Could you (once you confirmed it works, of course) tell the people there the same thing, if I haven't been able to do it meanwhile?

I've also solved this issue by installing Catalyst 10.12 on my iMac. For this, I've downloaded and installed DH Mobility Modder.NET, dowloaded the latest Catalyst display drivers for XP 32-bit (individual package, not the complete driver set). I've extracted but not installed these drivers on my computer (ie click Cancel when the real installer starts), follow the hint here then use DH Mobility Modder to mod the drivers. For the installation, I've performed a manual install from Device Manager > Properties for the graphic card and using Have Disk option.

For the moment, all seems to work fine but I'm still reluctant to use non-official drivers.

I didn't need to rely on unofficial drivers to make it work with my method if you want to give it a try...

I have finally uninstalled drivers 10.12 and revert to the official 10.7. I can confirm that your trick is working. (I use Alt-Tab for this as I have disabled the Command keys on my keyboard under Windows to prevent any unwanted interaction while playing. I really hate when Windows desktop suddenly appears because I have press this key by mistake instead of Space or Alt.)

Talking of drivers, in general terms I've found that ATI have made a complete trouser of everything I've tried since 10.4. So I'm sticking with that until they get their act together.

I've found out that the Catalyst 10.7 hotfix (official ATI release containing drivers for both desktop and mobility chipset) solved my issue.

Ok thanks,
I'll try to put the hotfix when I have time to play
we agree that this is something that "fixes" the vanilla catalyst 10.7, that I already installed, right?
