I heard you Larian! You told me "Go frak yourself!" with this mini-boss and I will proceed to do just so.
I thought I'd drop you a line as a thank you for the preceding many hours of enjoyement (and some tedium: getting around the Fjord? No, that isn't "fun" .)
Here goes:
- If the player had the foresight of bringing his creature into Raze's room do not penalize him by effacing it. That is plain cheating. In fact, it's a good idea to not penalize the player for having the guile and strategic mind to use *any* of his supplies.
- Unskippable cutscene = not fun. AUTOMATIC unskippable cutscene when boss is low on health = "frak you player!"
- Auto-cutscenes + regen machines that can not be shut down for good + infinite support mobs + whatever attack Raze has that causes 800 POINTS OF DAMAGE IN A SINGLE HIT = me gone.
Look at it this way: if this is how you build mini-boss encounters, what can I expect later on? Nothing *fair* must be the answer. From a player's perspective, it doesn't matter if Raze is a complicated one-off, you've lost the trust I had that DIVINITY would keep the challenge *constant*, *gradual* and, of course, *fair*.
I wish you much success in your next game.
Respectfully, SirV

yeah - I concur - Larian sometimes think it's funny to f*ck the players with such shitty design desicions. Tends to ruin the whole experience they built up beforehand... don't know what they were smoking there... but it's not the only one in the game.

That happened to me with my first character. He kept healing himself to no end. It was not until the 5th or 6th reload, he finally decided he wasn't going to heal himself any more. This is either a bug or a severe case of poor AI that VERY heavily relies on randomizers. I love this game but, when a container is empty or has dirty socks on one load, and has epic items on another load, tells me that they don't know how to use randomizers. p.s. Don't give me "that's the way life is" crap please! This is not real life, this is a game to have fun

You should be able to use your creature and summons in this encounter, or at least could in D2:ED.
Unskippable cutscenes are annoying.
If you are a high enough level to reasonably fight General Raze, then his summoned armours actually help you, as they can interfere with his ability to run for a healing chamber. I don't know if they are a serious threat after the combat rebalance (they were not in D2:ED).
The one-hit kill is a bug... wasn't it fixed in the patch, but if the problem occurred before installing the patch it was written into the save, and you needed to email the save to Larian to correct?

I came very close to making a comment that this post deserves. But instead, I'll kindly ask the poster to go back and read the first 3 posts!

I think the point is that some people aren't finding it easy and it's consequently not so much fun. Not everyone finds the right solution straight away so, y'know, give them a break.

Strontium Dog. You want to kill Raze you have to be steadfast. Raze is a hard nut to crack. Take time to kill him though. Be fast and use many potions lol..

Hey strontium, ...as soon as he runs to heal i can no longer hit him, he then runs between the heal chambers and i can't target him... I know the feeling. He did that to me on 2 of my characters out of 4. I think he's bugged at times and it takes several reloads for him to behave normally. I was able to kill him very easily with 2 of my characters but had to work on him for hours on the other 2; cut scene after cutscene. Frustrating and annoying. This has nothing to do with not knowing to pull the levers (and when) or not knowing how to fight him. Just ignore the moronic comments and keep reloading until he behaves.

If i pull a lever it freezes on the cutscene, seems my only chance to kill him would be if i fluked a load of crits at about half health which is when he normaly runs and i can no longer target him ever again. I had problems with it freezing on stone also, starting to get irritating.

I wondered what the hell was going on with this battle. Neither Raze nor his minions could hardly damage me as I was tough as nails. But every time I got his hitpoints down to a certain level, he simply healed himself. There was absolutely no way to stop him, the levers were useless, despite the 'hint' that they were important. I counted, and he healed himself fully 16 times before somehow I was able to take him down. What a tedious, awful fight.

I not understand why you think is so hard. After i see the levers for deactive the two healing chambers is was very easy. I killed two time one with mage and one with warrior level 27-28 i not remeber with a very easy way. You need simple ignore the summoned enemies lower the raze healt nearly the limit he go to heal, save for be sure, and go to use the two lever and now use all the thing you have and kill before the chamber go on another time.

Wow, what a novel idea! Now, why didn't I think of that? >.>
