At least in D2:ED the save files were named savegame01.dsg, etc, and located:

XP - C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

Vista/7 - C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames
