I keep em just unless they look useless to me. But once you get to the Battle tower, you get a coffer that can hold 400 items. You never really need to destroy anything again after the Tower. In fact, if you want some good money, use Dick, you gem gatherer to get you diamonds and sell them to a shop, they sell for about 180 a pop and he brings you 3 or 4 at a time after you fully upgrade him. Just tell him to leave, follow him till he disappears, then leave the battle tower using the dragon stone and immediately return after the cooldown period.
