The voice will give some insights!
Brand and Adler ... the names are random, but the characters are supposed to be these two 'typical' workers who complain about having to work rather than actually work. They're more like a comical duo (like Stan and Ollie in Broken Valley, only now their names are not references).
I'll reveal a little secret as well.
Do you know the two skill trainers in the Ministry? Caroline (Karolin) and Jonathan? Those I named after my sister and her husband.
Caroline says "Dem Göttlichen sei Dank, dass wenigstens meine Katze in Sicherheit ist." In English: "Thank the Divine my kitty cat Spike is safe at least." This refers to her cat called Spike.
And Jonathan says "Und außerdem ist es besser als früher. Da habe ich Kacheln verkauft." Which is a little different in English: "And anyway, it beats my old job of selling tiles." That's because he does actually work for a company that imports/exports/sells tiles.
These are private little jokes of course and my sister and Jonathan thought it was very amusing when I showed this to them at home!
So there you go, a little secret most at Larian don't even know about!
