The problem with cheat engines is that Steam sees them as security threats and so it blocks them and maybe even the user's account... So, for the sake of my account, I'm not going to use them. I've sent an e-mail to support@lariat.com with a copy of a save file right before Ba'al, now all I can do is wait for a patch or hotfix of some kind.
Edit: Farhang Namdar fixed my savegame and now the bosses are dealing their normal level of damage (Magic Blasts barely scratches my PC and fireballs do considerable damage, but now I can survive long enough to kill the assailants).
Really good support service, much better than most "big" developers out there, but as I've said in another topic, I hope they give us a permanet fix for this bug, so we can play the game again without that kind of worry.
