You shouldn't need to restart. Go finish off the rest of Broken Valley and get to level 14 or 15. Among other things, that will allow you to learn level 1 of the healing spell (at level 15 IIRC), which comes in handy and helps conserve potions.
Each time you level go around to all the merchants and look for potions, equipment upgrades, etc. If you have any alchemy material, head to the miller's house and make some more potions. If you have any high level healing aura enchantment formula, they could help on a couple pieces of jewelry (though any level requires a fairly rare malachite gem, which are in short supply before you get the battle tower).
If you Hide in Shadows, can your creature do any damage to Amdusias?
Help on Killing Amdusias. Any tips would be nice.After killing Amdusias you will gain access to Sentinel Island. Your first encounter there you can mindread to go up a level, so the higher level you are (I made it to level 18 in the fjords) the more of an experience bonus that will be. You don't need to get to a high level, but it would be better if you got to a new level before entering, to get a full level bonus. When you have finished off Broken Valley, depending on your level you may want to try clearing out some of the opponents at the start of the fjords before returning to Maxos temple.
