I'm back and I have troubling news...

The guide I promised is not even close to complete now that wikia has been brought into the picture. The scope has blown up so large that I'm issuing a call-to-arms (with Larian's permission of course). We need to help, big time.

I know many of you are devoted contributors to this forum and have answered the same question time-and-time again. If I may ask, please try and siphon some of that energy to contributing to the Divinity II wiki over at wikia.

Also, if you have an issue with wikia let me know and I'll see if there's an alternative.

For now, you can view the wiki at: http://divinity2fov.wikia.com
Soon to move to: http://divinity.wikia.com

@Larian: If you consider this an ad please let me know and I'll remove the post.

I think my only concern about using a Wiki-based guide is the "anyone can edit" principle: when I've helped out with them in the past I've found I've spent far more time fixing up other people's edits than actually contributing anything worthwhile. And some people can get very militant about their miscorrections and/or very PoV edits.

I'm aware that some people take an entirely different point of view to myself and are of the opinion that any likelihood of useful information is worth sifting through all the detritus... but someone still has to do that sifting if it's not to become unreadable. Or maybe I just don't like other people much. grin

There's good and bad about wikis. Good is you can make corrections when information becomes outdated. You can also add secrets and other bits of info when available. That's the problem with fixed game guides. Something you end up missing this or that you need to consult another guide.

The good news is the Divinity fanbase seems more tightly knit and so far vandalism and attribution wars aren't going on. Of course, if you don't want anyone to touch your page you can always lock it or have an admin lock it for you.

But I think what it really comes down to is dedication from the admins and other mods.

If you decide to stop by we could really use the help. I mean the wikia admins basically pushed us towards making a complete Divinity wiki. We have a two more games we have to add content for. o_O

I might do if my current malaise ever lifts. I reserve the right to wander off in a strop at any point though. grin
