For me "Women's day" stands for all the women in the world that are suffering.
I stand still for a while and think about all the women in war areas, women that are still being circumcised in Somalia and others poor countries, women are still being used as slaves in countries like Afghanistan, Syria, Algeria etc, women are still suffering all over the world just because they are women!
If we want equality between men and women there must be respect for both genders.
Sorry for my speech but I'm a big defender of women's rights.

I completely agree with everything you said but the "Woman's day" is a toy thrown to the women.
It will never stop all these awful things.

Seriouslly, the world will never be equal, there will allways be pepole who gets benefits due to not very rightous things. All we can do is to work against it so that it's not common. There are idiots of all kinds (women too <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />), and there will allways be idiots of all kinds, we can just do our best to prevent these idiots to do too much damage (hopefully). Easy for me to say btw, I'm a man, I don't have this problem...

@ La Fille -> i recall Egin made a thread just for Women's Day last year (or was it the year before that?) & many have posted in it. i hope u can move the warm wishes there so that thread will fill up nicely with wishes for all women especially those who are suffering (Gal, u're an angel).

@ Barta -> Your Highness, welcome back! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/XmasJump.gif" alt="" /> & i agree about the part where Women's Day are more or less commercialised & not viewed seriously by most men. that's why i don't give special treatment to any women, unless they are in obvious need of help, such as pregnant (can't carry heavy stuff) or elderly (can't walk far) or disabled. chivalry is sexism because it presumes women are weak & helpless.

come to think of it, we should discuss more of this in Egin's thread. i need to find it first though.

skiing vacation was great.. as usual 2 short.

Other than that.... WE BOUGHT A HOUSE !!!
it's not presentable yet and a lot of work still needs to be done. We hope to move in some time next year around april - may.
