Well, for what it's worth ATI's drivers have been solid for every game I play (though, some flashing textures in BC2), and I have played a lot of games.
When the card is overheating, things start looking weird (this card hasn't - it stays at about 70C under load), but what's showing in the Flying Fortresses is very uniform; not to mention that the rest of the game looks and plays great.
They just released a new driver set in February and I got it, and of course nothing has changed. As for graphics cards settings, I assure you I've tried everything without going into the registry.
What seals it for me though, is Raze's Fortress and Trilarian's issues with it matching mine, as we both have Impulse versions.
Impulse released a patch in mid-January, that broke the game's activation and anyone who patched it couldn't play the game any longer. They released a new patch after that, and I think this mix-match is what broke the Flying Fortresses, otherwise there would be a lot more people complaining about this before.
