You can go through with the robbery or not, and it will not effect other quests or influence other NPCs. Actually, after helping the traders I went back to the bandit camp hoping to be able to report on the situation, but didn't get the reaction I was hoping for (one of the responses was quite amusing, though).
Yeah i did the same thing, hoping ill be able to use my super dragon troll art power once i get back to Ragnar and get away with it as a war hero
Hellgate is than the 3rd way of getting them claws

Im not quite sure about the Saul Raze, i just checked my closed quest and i cant recall which one was it. All i know is that the second i let saul walk into the teleporter i got the "quest failed"
message & when i quickly followed him he dissapeared. Unfortunately it happend a bit too quick so i didnt memmorise the name of the quest, So i guess it was tillians quest of killing him that failed. i got no reward for rescuing him, i talked to Kenneth & nothing (would he open up a chest @ his enchanting platform ? - i completed his quests and he didnt open, he did offer to upgrade his enchanting platform tho ) . And i didnt get to peek inside a goblins tower either . If i remember i have a chance of confronting tillian and killing him but this time i gave him the A. sword in exchange for something i needed for that entrance with long dead dragon init (i think that was the convo where i could choose to fight him -tillian?) so, bad choice since i wanted to clear the camp sooner or later too.
Yeah i loved how Broken valley characters were mentioned here and there in FOV . and Folos pigs, ofcrs . after all some characters in BV mentioned their relatives/friends in Aleroth , including that whatsitsname inn
thx for the Sleepers answer, ive never noticed and their reward was kinda dissapointing for me, esp bc i found them in late game of broken valley and it took me some time to find another apple & brew
same goes for the guy in the hole, now i need to replay the game just to hear "just how awesome i am"
And damn, that guy rly was creating a raft on sentinel, how could i forgot this :S
