I've got a few more side quests to go on before I finish Chapter 1 (Deep Roads). This game is painfully linear. And for a game that is so closed off, the visuals are so bland and crappy. I'm not one to bitch and moan about graphics, but this game is ugly. Some of the main characters look decent during conversation scenes, but there are non-playable character models on city streets that look like they're straight out of 1995 - and no, I promise you, I'm not exaggerating one bit. Also, there are bland and flat textures, crappy paper looking 2D trees, lousy looking water, etc. This isn't a pretty game.
Dragon Age II puts me in an ugly world, yet I still want to explore it, though I can't due to the linear world that is chopped up into a ton of tiny little pieces with loading screens. Oh, and you visit the same caves a million times. They'll put you in different spots of the cave, even though you've already explored the cave, and try to trick you that you're exploring something new. Nope. Same cave. Same loot that you've already found. Nothing new. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Oh, and you get one city, which is Kirkwall. Everything is ugly. The art, the graphics, etc. So little content in terms of environments, yet they're all so dated, bland, and repetitive. Oh gee, thanks, Bioware. Not.
