So yeah, on the 4th of the 7 waves at the Hall of Echoes (Laiken, Razakel). I've reloaded 23 times (and counting). Saving about every two seconds. 633HP fire projectiles in one hit? On the easy setting? Really? Really??? That's absurd. This is worse than Battletoads. This keeps up I'm uninstalling and not playing the second game.

I didn't sign up for hyper-twitch nonsense like this, I wanted an RPG.

33 times. Stubborn and a glutton for punishment, but definitely not a happy camper.

46, I've given up. Game will be uninstalled tomorrow if there's no good explanation for this.

Oh, and yes. Difficulty slider is on casual. Why Razakel's attack is so bleeping powerful is beyond me.

That is a bug. I assume you are playing DKS?

The patch will prevent this problem, but unfortunately if it has already occurred in the save it will not undo it. However, if you email your save to support@larian.com, with a description of the problem, they can fix it for you.

If you have time to react when the conversation ends, the Hide in Shadows skill might help, with your creature and possibly a summon hopefully taking care of Razakel (or at least keeping his attention). A Stun Arrow, or possibly a Rush Attack, or something, may let you finish him off before he can hit you.

One person who ran into this problem (with the PC version) used CheatEngine to fix their health until they got past Ba'al (someone mentioned that Steam may have a problem with the use of CheatEngine, though, even with a single player game).

With the PC version, in XP the saves are in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames


or in Vista / Win 7

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames


You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders (XP, Vista, Win 7).

Shouldn't it already be patched through steam? What's the patched version number?

The last update was Dec 12 2010.

If you downloaded DKS recently, then I would think it should already be updated. Did you try checking anyway, if Steam isn't set to do so automatically?

I'm not sure what the latest version number is. The PC patch was released Dec 23rd, so I would have thought Steam would have been updated a few days or so after that.


If you do have the second patch, then apparently it doesn't prevent all situations that can cause certain boss type opponents to have over-powered attacks.

The last time I checked it was set to auto-update. From memory the current installed version is 1.4.9.70. I did send a message to support.

Any confirmation on the Steam version number?
