It might just be me but it seems like those that purchased and pre-ordered Ego Draconis should get a discount since we were screwed over with such a broken game. I'm still waiting for fixes with the resolution and difficulty levels, not to mention the projectile and collision physics.
Dragon Knight Saga looks decent enough from the screenshots and I pray that Larian learned from Ego Draconis, but it's just a cruel joke with what happened in the prequel.

By the way, I pre-ordered Ego Draconis and installed it. Three hours later I wanted to return it because it couldn't adapt to 1440x900 and arrows could home in while human but while in dragon form magic homed in instead. Not to mention I have yet to meet some one that has beaten the Memory Eaters on the final stage but no, I kept it since forum mods promised a solution soon.. but nothing yet, nothing yet.

Even on the 360 version I saw numerous complaints about falling through the ground.



It may look "okay" now but in flight its impossible to see, and with bloom on objects turn ghostly

Just thought i'd add my two cents and say that, even though i have only had this game for a few weeks, i'm loving it. It works perfectly almost all the time (except for a glitch that turns my character gold sometimes when i pick something up :'*, but no game breaking issues) And i am really enjoying the gameplay and storyline.

Basically what i'm saying is that for every dissapointed person there is a very happy one, and i am that person. So thank you everyone at Larian studios, for entertaining me to such an extent that i play untill three in the morning before realising that i have work at six :')

I wasn't talking about glitches in Dragon Knight Saga, I was talking about well known glitches in Ego Draconis. I got support several times after Ego Draconis was released but nothing helped so I uninstalled it and tossed it in my room to gather dust. If there has been a recent patch to fix the glitches I listed I would be more than happy to reinstall it and try again.

Did you try manually setting the resolution for D2:ED? I don't recall any particular problems the game had with certain resolutions. Someone did mention that running the game as administrator in Vista/7 got some higher resolutions to show up in the game's options.

What issue do you have with the difficulty levels? If it starts getting too easy you can always pick a handicap (stop assigning stat or skill points, don't use certain pieces of equipment, etc).
A difficulty jump generally means there are other places you need to explore first or other things you need to finish off.

Magic and ranged attacks home in to an extent (reduced in the 1.03 patch / North American release), yours and those of NPCs. The alternative would be some form of manual aiming to lead moving targets, or else ranged characters would not be viable.
In human form if you are a moderate distance away it is fairly easy to avoid ranged attacks, and in dragon form it is very easy.

Collision detection can be a problem (particularly when using Rush Attack either up or down hill), but it is still relatively rare (happened to me about 3 times playing a warrior that frequently Rush Attacked), and can be easily recovered from if you make periodic saves (in one case I was able to run in the downhill direction and popped back above ground).

I easily beat the Memory Eaters in the Hall of Echoes. In fact, at level 36 they could not do any significant damage to me. The first time I went through there I did a lot of unnecessary dodging and flying around, since I thought (from the first description of the Memory Eaters on the Divinity 2 website) the circular attacks might deduct experience points, rather than hit points. Later I tested that, and found I could sit in the middle of a group of them, with one occasionally casting Dragon Sphere, and not take any damage.
Even people entering the Hall of Echoes in the low thirties have been able to take out the Memory Eaters, and one person reported finishing the game at level 26 (with a tactic of running, jumping and madly casting Magic Missile and Firewall).

I tried every solutiion suggested on the forum.

As for difficulty levels, easy mode was hard, normal was easy, and hard was 1 hit kill.

I fought the Memory Eaters at lvl 35 and their attacks homed in no matter what I did and took 1/3 of my health.

Its becoming fairly obvious this game is designed for elites, I'm a hard core gamer but this one has me beat.. no matter what I do it manages to find a way to destroy me. Either with horrid graphical glitches or with over powered enemies ganging up for one massive one shot kill.

I tried the sitting and nuking the memory eaters strategy like you did angel, it resulted in one dead dragon.

I've also hunted for useful FAQs and found the same poorly made walkthrough everywhere I went. This leads me to believe so few people beat the game that there isn't enough collective knowledge to make a helpful and reliable FAQ.

Oh and jynn, I've done that. I did that a month after the game was released, the information that I recieved from the officials didn't help so I gave up and started relying on the players.. which did little to solve any of the issues.

I only played through the game once, on normal difficulty (I found it normal, hard in a couple places, tending to fairly easy late in the game). I don't recall anyone else reporting that easy mode was more difficult.


Did you ever try returning to the battle tower from the dragon sections of the Hall of Echoes? Maybe that would get the game to reset something.
At level 35 the Memory Eaters shouldn't have been doing that much damage, and their attacks should not home in any more than other types of ranged attacks. A few people have had trouble there (ie Another..Hall of Echoes question), but I'm not sure if they were getting the same damage.

Did you ever try sending a save to Larian? If the problem was in the save, rather than the game itself, maybe they could fix it, or wipe out the Memory Eaters.
There was a bug in DKS (fixed in the patch) where certain opponents could have over-powered attacks. Someone mentioned using CheatEngine to freeze their health until they got past that fight. There may be trainers that would be easier to use than CheatEngine.

There were a bunch of people who posted in the topic Finished Divinity II ? Tell us with which stats., lots of topics with people complaining about the ending of the game plot-wise (and a couple who liked the ending), lots of people complaining about having to get the Xbox version of DKS rather than just FoV, since they had already finished D2:ED, etc.

My previous saves were wiped in the uninstal so I shouldn't have an issue with that, and if I do.. I'll simply use your suggestion.

I do hope that the resolution bug has been fixed tho, it was the same way in the demo but at the time I thought "must be an early version or something" and I've tried editing the files and all other suggestion to no avail so yeah.. I hope its fixed
