Not really stuck or anything just after an opinion. At the moment I am running around the Fjords and doing quests and such like I have been told to head back to Broken Valley to find the Sigil.I just wondered what sort of level I should be and also what are the giant flying fortresses? I am a level 28 mage at the moment and while I am not getting battered by enemies I do still have to be careful. I thought about heading to one of the fortresses to try to gain some more experiance any thoughts or advice is most welcome failing that I could just go to broken valley and see what happens choices choices think

Having just taken the battle tower, I went back to Broken valley for a quick peek. The opposition there is at level 27. I am level 21, and while I managed to blow the airborne forces out of the sky, once I landed they made short work of me. Talk about pining for the fjords.

As a level 28 mage you should do fine.

Oh, and you might want to go in by air.
The valley floor is wrapped in a poison fog.

Level 27/28 should be high enough to tackle Broken Valley and the Flying Fortresses.

The path at the start of the fjords can be used to safely return to Broken Valley by foot. You will not get very far down the path on the Broken Valley side, though.

In D2:ED the order of the flying fortress from easiest to hardest was Stone, Raze, Broken Valley, Kali and then Keara.

The sigil isn't needed until you are ready to head to the Hall of Echoes, so the order doesn't matter much (you still have to finish off everything you want to do in Broken Valley, the fjords and Sentinel Island first).

I like the fact you have put Keara as the hardest as I am currantly wandering around there killing things to get my exp points up aargh

Will see how I do still a couple of things in the Fjords I fancy finshing before I rush off to broken valley again. Thanks everyone for the advice.

Keara's was the first flying fortress I did myself wink It was slow and careful going, but I got a new level almost every platform. Enjoy the XP while it lasts, by your final fortress, you'll be doing one-hit kills for almost no XP.

And Broken Valley isn't to hard, as long as you advance carefully and don't 'pull' too many enimies at a time. Also, stake out your landing points (there are some safe spots on hills) - you'll want to be able to use your human regeneration and healing powers. I found it slow going even at higher levels, because my dragon form was always so weak compared to my human form.

Broken Valley has few enemies compared to the "real" Flying Fortresses.

Then again, the first is the hardest. Stone's (funnily the easiest apparently, I would say hardest 0_0) really got me good. But I gained 5 levels mopping up, and it was a breeze from then onwards.
