I am using a North American xbox 360 elite (black with 120 gb HD)

I completed ED and recently bought DKS. Made a full install of FoV and am unable to access my saved characters from ED.

I removed the FoV disc (DKS)and put my ED disc in and my old saves were present. I then replayed the final battle in order to get a fresh save, which I have a manual save and an auto save.

I put the DKS disc back in and still cannot access my old ED saves in either FoV or the included copy of ED.

Saves of new characters all seem to be working fine with DKS.

I tried to recreate my character as best I could, but he has lower stats due to not getting points for skill books etc. That isnt really a big issue for me though.

My main concern is that the Battle tower now is now loaded with the rejects I had killed on the island. I miss Igor, the enchanting couple, and the alchemist that isnt a weasel. Please help! smile

AFAIK all patches are up to date via xbox live.

Unfortunately, there were too many changes made in DKS (PC and Xbox versions) to maintain saved game compatibility with D2:ED (redesigned flying fortresses, changes to enemy placement and loot, etc).

On the PC, saves made in the original release of Ego Draconis are compatible with the add-on FoV (digital download only), but Larian could not get just the add-on published for the Xbox.

The battle tower servants are chosen randomly when you start a new character in FoV (I just tried it, and got Igor, Hermosa, Barbatos and Radcliff), so if you don't mind going through the beginning several times you should be able to at least get a couple of the servants you want (there is only a 6% chance of getting all 4 of your picks, though).

Is it possible that you can find a way to simply import the decisions and items/equipment? Like somthing similar to bioware's imports in Mass Effect? I have some pretty awesome things going on with my ED character and I would prefer not to lose it because of some changes to the game's core.

Not going to happen. The game has already been made and out on Disc. There isn't a way to make it import from ED. You have to start a new game for DKS.

Here is what I did, I started a new character for DKS replaying through the first game that comes with FOV. After you complete the first game you automatically go right into FoV with that character. Yes it will probably take you a week or so depending on how much time you have to devote to replaying the updated ED for DKS but it's well worth it.

Well I didnt expect it much anyway but I will miss the equipped armor, jewlery, and weapons I had they were pretty epic. Collectively i had stuff that gave me +4 to wisdom, +1 to mindread, +2 to reflect and +1 to mana drain.

You will get stuff like that again if you replay through ED in the DKS version and actually better equipment than what you have currently. Trust me the better stuff comes later in the game and then in FoV the armor sets and charms are a lot better.

Thank you Raze for clearing that up:) Sorry for the slow response but been busy lately and havent had a chance to post.

While I have to agree that decision making and graphic design seem totally unrelated and shouldn't prevent the carry-over feature from working properly, it is what it is, and honestly, the way FoV plays, most of those decisions don't really matter much ( or at least less than thought they would.)

After my first play through I created a new character and sure enough, I had some different tower servants. But really, you could probably play through the entire expansion without even setting foot in the battle tower (I was rarely in there the first time around), but its nice visit Igor to hear him talking about his knives and saws, that always brightens my day:)

The loot is ALL replaceable, so to the other poster, don't worry about that. So are the skills and stats, you'll end up with more than you know what to do with.

However the only other issue I have is the craptacular dragon armor. I didn't see a single upgrade and if you create a character for FoV without an ED playthrough, you get stuck with the Dragon Bone armor (Albeit at that point in the game it really doesnt matter a whole lot, even though I have more HPs in human form than in dragon form! lol)

Now if they create a Divinity III, I would be very disappointed if these issues are not resolved, but for the purposes of FoV, although it is a bug, it isnt game breaking.

Thanks again for the help:)

I think it was more things like changes to loot generation, enchantments, enemy placement, quest reward changes, etc, that caused a problem trying to maintain saved game compatibility.

In D2:ED, for the dragon form I removed all equipment except for the Bone Dragon Cuirass (+40% hit points) and Bone Dragon Leggings (+40% offense) once I could max Firebreath, Fire Sphere, Dragon Spirit and Dragon Burst without the need for equipment spell bonuses. I didn't use Dragon Burst that much (came in handy a couple times), and never tried the summon, shield or polymorph spells.

Well I noticed the changes to enemy placement and numbers in the first part of broken valley there are no boars and fewer goblins as far as I can tell.

There are no ducks or deer, either (removed for performance reasons).
