I searched and tried manually browsing for this topic and found nothing except in an older ED thread.
So I posted one for DKS. IF one already exists, well... UKW... I'm sorry...

Has anyone found out the deal with the mystery room, off the fire traps? And what about that friggin' chest down by the old dragon?

You mean where the map shows a room, but you can't get to it? No, that seems to be an error in the map (and not the only one in the game) - there was a thread on it before, but I can't find it right now.

And that chest is just for decoration, you can't reach it.

Yup...That's the one. I found an old thread in the ED forum from a year ago. Nobody knew how to get in there and wrote it off as a glitch in the map, just as you stated. If that is indeed the case, then it does pose the question. Why did they continue it in the new version with all the changes that were made?

Indeed, the "mystery" room is totally empty, it does exist because it was part of the original design for the dungeon, but we blocked it off because there was no need for it anymore. The reason it appears on the map is because maps are directly based on the 3d model of the dungeons, so if it's there, it's on the map.

About the chest in the dragon's room, it's purely decoration, no way to get to it. smile

Oh, well now a lot of the maps in the game make sense! All those "jail cell with a damaged door filled with rubble" in the various dungeons make sense for showing up on the map.
