I second that! Similar story here; The first time I heard of the game was when one of my friends bought Ego Draconis for the Xbox but he didn't like it; said it was boring. I had a look at the packaging etc before he returned it and thought I'd like to try it. I don't own an Xbox so I bought the PC version and played it right through to the end. I'm glad I did as this is one of the most enjoyable games I have played, the humour, the music, environments, the dragon bits, well everything really. I have also played Dragon Age and preferred D2 over that. I was disapointed with the ending of D2:ED though and bought D2:DKS some several months later and played through the whole game again; I'm currently near the end of the expansion so Ill probably post something in the Divinity 3 suggestion thread when I've finished & seen what happens at the end.
Keep up the good work Larian - I loved this, it's just a shame it didn't get the sales it deserved and I hope you complete the obvious sequel. Please don't make it for consoles only; Divinity belongs on the PC.
The only things I can think of to improve in D3 right now is the dragon combat; make it so you can attack ground forces and be able to land and walk about as a Dragon. 'Drakan' & its PS2 sequel (the other games I loved to bits) had this and this worked perfectly I can only assume engine limitations made this impossible in DKS. in 'Drakan', they balanced Dragon / Human combat out by having lots of areas where the dragon could not fit such as caves. Other than that, it's pretty much perfect. The improvements made in DKS did make it more enjoyable than the first time round so it's nice to see developers take note of suggestions.
As for other things, as above, I hope D3 still a 3D RPG like D2 and you have more open spaces to fly about in Dragon form such as Broken Valley. More dragons on your side would be nice; whatever happened to the Patriarch? I'd like to see him provide much more of a role in the sequel. Surley he has the ability to create more Dragon Knights? Like I have read in another post; you will die someday so bringing the dragon knights back sounds good to me. Also what about giving your character a voice? Finally as others have posted it would be nice to go back once you have completed the main quest (such as Oblivion) rather than the game ending.
That's all I can think of until I have finished the game.
