In D2:ED I went with Hermosa, Wesson, Barbatos and Jonelath (didn't like Igor's voice or Allan's personality).

With the skill trainers Hermosa is slightly cheaper raising the level cap for warrior skills, while Kenneth is slightly cheaper with mage sills. The difference is not that great, though, especially since gold is so easy to get once you have the battle tower.

Sentinel Island Servant picks.... - D2:ED topic, but AFAIK things are mostly the same in DKS. The effect for the book Kenneth wants for one of his quests was reduced, but IMO it is still better to use it yourself than complete the quest.
In D2:ED the book gave 5 skill points; in DKS it gives 3.

Yeah,
I had almost the same with Igor! The first time you go into the Necromancer's cave and talk to Igor BE SURE to say (choose the correct conversation option!) to Igor he must WAIT to poison Jonelath and you say him YOU will decide later !!

I have had the same problem in earlier playthroughs, but this time I choose by the Necromancer Totem for Jonelath smile Like Raze, I don't like Igor's voice and I like Jonelath just because of him and I'm curious what kind of quest he will give me because this is the first time I take him and not Igor.

This time I've chosen Hermosa (this will cost me more gold because I think I go more for mage skills than warrior skills) because she's soo lovely and has a beautiful voice ... smirk ,
Wesson (choose intuitive), Jonelath and Barbatos (he's funny and I don't like the Quest allan give me and have no interest for the Allan Brew potion, who knows what effect the outcome will be if I drink that potion hahaha ...

Or you can tell him to go ahead and poison Jonelath, and then say to Jonelath: hey, have you heard about Igor wanting to poison you? Jonelath will now kill Igor in your absence and he will become your necromancer by default.

There is no critical difference, it doesn't really matter.

There IS a difference !

Kenneth is not Hermosa
Barbatos is not Allan
Jonelath is not Igor
Wesson is not Ratcliff

AND they give a different quest, they've a different character, voice, look, ... personallity (Raze used a fitting "word")

Okay, if you just mean the outcome for the main story line, you're right,
but I see things in a RPG in another way and find it very nice I can choose between 2 servants smile

I've always let Ken and Herm fight it out, but I picked Herm outright this time anyway because shes so damn hot

I usually pic Bar over AL (exc once) because Al reminds me of someone I ate, and I was sick for a week

I go back and forth between Jo and Igor. I currently have Jo, but I miss Igor's comments and he was the servant to the famous necromancer Dr Frankenstein

This was the first time I picked Wes, because of the quest, but I usually let them go into the competition

I didn't pick Allan during DKS. I remember how crap he was during Ego and it's Barbatos who is the better alchemist.

Actually, the only difference was that Barbatos' quests resulted in one extra skill point, and hat Barbatos needed you to give up the Alchemy Amulet, while Allan needed the Potion of Wisdom. Not a terribly huge difference, and Allan gets you the unique Allan Brew formula, too.

Okay wink not sooo big differences, right.
But the "little" details by each servant make them unique and has as result every gamer has his/her favorite servants smile

In all my playthroughts I've chosen each of the 8 servants at least 1 time & Now I know what my favorite servants are. biggrin
