It's a rating placed on movies and TV shows, warning the viewers of the content of the program
PG stands for Parental Guidance. The general average of most drama or comedy shows.

An R rating would be next, meaning Restricted (age 17+) containing curse language, nudity and or gore.
There is a PG-13, but I just refer to them as PG.
