I just finished the game and it was in one word AWESOME!
Only thing I can say is that I would have liked some more dragontime, you would only become a dragon at the end of flames of vengeance... and there wasn't any dragonskills or other dragonstuff u could use.. I just love cruising through the air as dragon ^^
I hope there will be another sequel! Funny tho there wasn't a scene where rhode would get freed (is she still there :P?) and there wasnt a return of the dragon-patriach, because that kept me wondering a bit about restoring the dragonrace or something mysterious that involves him(?). And a good point was that you could train a bit on the undead if your level was just a little too low or you had to pay off your mindreading xp debt. Puzzles were also enjoyable altho I didn't totally got the orb-puzzle. Also it was a good thing Larian made Divinity2: DKS available for steam, because I can't find the game in any shop....
So I must say GOOD JOB Larian, it's definitly one of my most favourite games and thanks for making it!! laugh

There is some in depth discussions about the next game(s) on this forum & speculation is that one of the next games will be about bringing back the Dragon Knights.

There was going to be another large area in the 'expansion' part of DKS (flames of Vengeance) where you could fly around but it was cut from the game.

Patriarch - yes, I think he could provide a role in the sequel as well that's something I suggested in one of the threads.

As for the game only available on Steam I think that was because they couldn't get a publisher to sell boxed retail copies. Don't know the exact ins and outs of the reason why but it seems a bit short sighted to me; sureley they will sell more? The xbox versions are available retail however.

Divinity 2 is one of my favorite games so far and I could not put it down. Other games I tend to only play every now and then or switch between several games so I don't get bored with them. I also see you are a Drakan fan as well; I own the website arokhslair.net which I think is the only Drakan fansite left. It's seriously dated now though and I really need to get round to 'modernising' it.

Ha, I remember that site!

Drakan is one of my favourite games, too bad the sequel never came to PC. I still play it now and then.

I actually bought a PS2 so I could play the sequel. Better game in my opinion but it did have it's flaws such as terrible Arokh model and horrible textures that made it look, well, horrible.

More Divinity games are planned and are currently being developed. At the moment, they are only known by their project names: D and E:

I played Drakan as well - and was very angry as I found out that the sequel was ONLY available for consoles !

I still don't have any console, not even today.

Besides : There has been a small discussion on Drakan on RPGWatch : http://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13235&highlight=drakan

The sequel was PS2 only because the game's publisher was bought by Sony who wanted it to be an exclusive for their relativley new console at the time. Originally it was going to be a PC game and there is some early screenshots somewhere on the web. Due to the PS2's limited memory they had to severley reduce texture resolution which made it look smeared.

The ending sucked because it was tagged on at the last minute as Surreal ran out of time to get the game finished. I think they threw the last two levels together in just a week or two. Nice guys at Surreal they helped with the website and community a lot. One of the guys who worked there still keeps in touch every now and then.

BTW the PCSX2 emulator runs the game reasonably well on a fast PC. I get good framerates but it is a bit buggy. You will need to purchase a copy of the game though as the emulator will only play legally obtained games. Best alternative is to buy a cheap second hand PS2 - the game will not run on a PS3 even the old ones with backwards compatibility. The original USA models of the PS3 supposedly do but I have not tested it.

A lot of PC fans wrote a story of Drakan; basically the events of the two games in story form. A lot had to be re-written due to one players let's just say wild imagination re: Rynn and Arokh but it's not a bad read. It's called 'the order reborn' and it can be found on the fan fiction page at Arokh's Lair. http://www.arokhslair.net
