I didn't know this, (wow big shocker) but you get a hidden bonus from your Par/Ren lvl in ME1.

Paragon Bar---Bonus
25%-----10% bonus to First Aid coldown
50%-----10% bonus to Health
75%-----5% bonus to all cooldowns

Renegade Bar---Bonus
25%-----10% bonus to First Aid cooldown
50%-----Regen +1 Health per sec
75%-----5% bonus to damage/duration of weapons/talents
