Anyone looking forward to this game? It's the latest game from inXile, known for their work on the reboot of The Bard's Tale. I really enjoyed The Bard's Tale, so naturally I'm pretty excited to try out Hunted: The Demon's Forge. It has loot, dungeon crawling, and role-play elements, but it's more set up like an action game; I think this one just looks like a lot of fun, and the atmosphere seems to be spot on. Some people currently have it and have been pretty positive on it.
My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

Single player and co-op, just like any good dungeon crawler.

Good to know. For some reason, I was thinking it was forcing the player/players into a MP. I just checked out the trailer and the other stuff about it. It will be added to the shelf at home. thanks for posting this thread or else i would have missed the preorder bonus.

I would have never expected Alrik to play an "action game"

I only tried it at the RPC - and I hated these console contols so much ... because I just couldn't get myself accustomed to them ... In the end, I had to give it up ...

I played the Xbox 360 version and it was pretty great.
- Combat is well done, both ranged and melee
- Loot is done in a more linear and somewhat more convenient manner
- It's not an open world, but there are multiple paths to find, which showcase some cool looking areas, and in the end you get some epic loot
- Visuals are pretty nice, especially for the Unreal Engine 3
- There are some glitches, as my partner sometimes got stuck on the geometry and would seizure on one place

I'm playing Hunted on Xbox and I'm having a blast. Can't believe all the flak the game is getting in reviews. It's a great game and I hope the developers will be rewarded with decent sales despite the lacklustre press scores Hunted is getting.

Is it an RPG or an action game ? An action game. The combat is Hack & Slash, and sure, there are magic spells and battle moves to be unlocked and upgraded; weapons and armours to be found; secrets to be uncovered and puzzles to be solved – so that's all great – but it's not an RPG in the sense that you progress as a character other than in a combat sense. Definitely not an RPG in the sense that you like RPGs to be, Alrik! It's also obviously a console game and I hear that on PC, though the graphics are obviously better, the controls are pretty bad, something you seem to have experienced first hand. As an action game with RPG-light influences though, it does what it does very well and I'm especially impressed by the often huge puzzle areas that are completely optional. You may well walk past them without discovering them even, which keeps you keen to explore every nook and cranny of any given area. I also like the characters. From the looks of them Caddoc and E'lara seem to be the o-so-typical male barbarian and the frail, scantily-dressed elf girl, but when you hear the banter between the two, you can see that they reversed those roles. Caddoc is the level-headed and cautious strategist, while E'lara is the one who wants to barge in and blow stuff up. This leads to some pretty funny dialog and amusing one-liners. And despite the obvious teasing of each other, you can also feel the respect the characters have for one another, which really makes them feel like a team; like friends who share a history. No cheap, flirty lines here, which is a relief. So all in all, I would say Hunted is game well worth your time if you enjoy the genre, though I guess that I can safely say it's probably not quite your cup of tea.

"Hunted is a third-person co-op fantasy action game set in a dark and foreboding world. Now available." is a short note I wrote when searching for this game on the web finding link below ... Hunted : The Demon ForgeEdit : So Macbeth, in this game you play with both characters, Caddoc & E'lara, or what exactly means "co-op" ?

Well, you can play the game single player (which I'm doing now) and you can switch between the characters at certain spots in the game, if you want. But you can also play the entire story with two players, i.e. co-op, where one plays Caddoc and the other E'lara. You can do this over the internet or locally with split-screen, which at some point I hope to be able to do with my brother – if he finds the time.

Okay, thanks So playing it on single player mode you are totally free to play with Caddoc OR with E'lara (only) or you can switch between them (if you like more variation) at "certan spots" . Hmm ... another question : so it is possible to play the whole game in single player mode or are there puzzles you can only solve in co-op?

Mostly you can 'tell' the other to do something. So when playing as Caddoc and there's something that needs lighting with a fire arrow, when you stand near to it you can press B and he'll ask E'lara do do so, which she automatically does. Another puzzle did require you to play as E'lara, but then they made sure there was one of those changing spots right there. Long story short: you don't miss anything in single player - as far as I know.

Thanks Macbeth The times are ... full of RPG's to play these days ... and I'm happy I have the patient now to give each RPG worth my time much "Time" to play it thoroughly ... This prevent me to visit a game shop too often and buy too many times a game that is a mistake ("not a game that sweets my style good enough to play it to the end") But looking at the upcoming RPG's ... pfff ... decisions ... and for what? it's just entertainment & fun, games, not real life decisions ! (the real life ones are much more complicated if you wish - like I do sometimes (& in the past more often) - to make them 'complicate' )

Well, if you ever do find the time for Hunted we could try the co-op!

Ah, this evokes in me the fond memories of the (to me relatively few) Larian Forums D2 sessions ... I mean Blizzard's D2 with that ... We were people from all over the world trying to get rid the landscape of these monsters ... Sad that we could never do it again - and that so many of the "older folks" are gone from here now ... I'm still waiting for someone to play Star Wars Battlefront I with me online ... - It's the only shooter game I'm currently playing ...
