Okay, first off, I am playing on 360.
So I did Sentinel Island and got the Battle Tower, then went on to Orobas. Problem is, there are barriers blocking off most of the area. I have heard people say there are those spawn tree things (can't remember what they are called) that look electrified that you have to destroy.
I only see two, both are destroyed, but the barriers are still there. I have gone into all of the caves and caverns I can find. I even got into the little fort thing on the side of the rocks.
Am I missing something? The area it allows me to fly in is not very big, and I don't see anything, but I have been searching for hours.
Please help. If this has been answered already (tried doing a search and got way too many results), please direct me to that thread. Thanks.

Fly up near one of the barriers, you will see a teleporter type thing, go in it and proceed. (:

In the fort on the side of the mountain, there are 3 levers you need to pull to lower the barrier and drop the anti-dragon shields. Check upstairs, over along the far end wall, by the jewellery merchant; there are a couple levers by the desk, and another by a chest.

In the original release of D2:ED, there was a second barrier later in the fjords that you needed to destroy some ballistas and a nest in order to lower. However, that barrier was removed in DKS.

Many thanks, Raze. Your directions were perfect. Found the levers and now I am once again flying free.

Only one problem. There still is another barrier in DKS. It is just past the Slayer Camp (which is blocked by anti-dragon zones still). The barrier stops me from getting to High Hall. There don't seem to be any spawn towers or fliers in there, though.
Think I might be lost again, but have other places to tackle before I worry about that.

The anti-dragon shields around the harbour and High Hall can not be removed. You will have to transform to human and run the rest of the way there. You can fly over part of the anti-dragon shields around the harbour and slayer camp, and transform above to drop down.

On the path between the depleted ore mine and the harbour / High Hall you can meet a traveling merchant (only once). You will need at least 52k worth of diamonds, malachite ore and loot to sell if you want to get the malachite gem he has for sale and the 50k of gold he has; another 20 or 30k worth of stuff would help if he has any other items you wish to buy.

It's possible to reach High Hall and Camp Harbour without walking the path where you meet once that merchant ...(I haven't met that merchant yet and I'm level 26 and reach High Hall, Camp Harbour, Aleroth, etc ...)
Just fly around and look out for each blue teleporter and write down their travelroute destinations on a piece of paper or just try them out ... some of them are broken and have just 1 destination ... wink

Good luck wink

Thanks, all. I actually figured out about walking in by accident. I flew into an anti-dragon zone accidentally and, lucky for me, I had the transformation stone mapped to a button, so I quickly changed to human form (purely by instinct, in fact) and dropped like a stone (glad I survive high drops) and made it to Champion Harbour, etc.
I haven't met the merchant either and, from what I have heard on other forums, he doesn't appear in DKS.
Still investigating that, though.

The traveling merchant is in DKS, in the same place he was in D2:ED (with more gold and no random alchemy or enchantment ingredients that might obscure the malachite gem he has).
I described my encounter with him in the Who's playing DKS on nightmare difficulty ? topic, quoted below.

After reaching the bunker, disabling the barrier and visiting Dragon Cliff Castle, I returned to the battle tower to farm diamonds and malachite ore, so I could get all the gold from the traveling merchant on the path to High Hall and the harbour. The first encounter he offered me a ring a little better than one I had, so I bought it and the malachite gem, then sold stuff to get all the gold. Then I reloaded to try again, and got nothing (besides the gem). On my third try I got a bracelet (+5 Heightened Reflexes, +2 Ranger Strength, 2 charm slots and 1 enchantment slot), a belt (+49 HP, +48 mana, 2 charm slots, 1 enchantment), a bow with a level 9 Mana Leech enchantment and a cleaver with a level 10 Fire Curse enchantment. After selling all the diamonds and malachite ore I had, Carleton still had over 12k gold left, so I sold the plants I had on me, a couple pieces of alternate and older jewelry, some leggings I kept that were comparable in quality to the ones I was using and the belt I had equipped. Then I sold all my Healing, Revitalizing and Rejuvenation potions, figuring I could make more and that would clean up that section of inventory (so I didn't have 5 size versions of everything), as well as 51 chicken legs. That still left 2266 gold, but I wasn't reloading again, and had left more gold than that in Broken Valley (didn't think to make level 1 dexterity and resistance potions to sell, etc, as mentioned by Senior Cinco and Joram in the selling equipment topic).

I haven't met the traveling merchant just because I wait to travel that small path in the direction of High Hall ... I wish to meet the merchant later on ...
I've seen him already, but did a reload of an earlier save .
I changed my plan, that's why. wink

well it's a problem if you don't know where to look.
first those tree's you're talking about are "nest towers" or "nest dais" what they do is respawning the flying enemy's you encounter as a dragon.

the red shield is an anti dragon zone with means if you fly through the shield as a dragon YOU DIE!

how to deactivate them:
look at the map. there you see two channels. in the middle between the two channels, is a small piece of land you can go to.
on this piece of land there is a teleporter named: "camp sentinal view". go through it
save your game NOW, because you have to fight two black ring (a couple).
go up the ladder and defeat them. then go upstairs you see three levers flip them to remove the anti dragon shield

well enjoy scouting the orobas fjords;)
