Is there going to be a patch to address the anti aliasing in this game? The general consensus seems to be that the in game option does absolutely nothing. nVidia users can force it through Inspector but ATI users only have access to RadeonPro. Unfortunately, due to the inability to set hexadecimal comparability codes in RadeonPro, forcing AA (though possible with the newest drivers) results in the dreaded white pixels along edges which looks worse than the staircase we started with. (white pixel edges better explained here: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=111324).

I'm hoping there will either be a fix to get the in game option working properly or something I can do to make it work. Has anyone had any luck with getting AA through just enabling the option in graphics menu? I've tried many things such as XP compatibility modes, running as administrator, Vsync on/off, AF on/off, various levels of graphical quality (shadows etc), reducing/eliminating overclocking rates and nothing seems to work. Also tried morphological filtering but lets face it: blurry text looks horrible. These are my specs:

i7 @ 2.93GHz
8GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5700
1920x1080

Thanks for reading and any help!

The in-game option works for me with no issues. I just tested again to make sure, and there is definitely a noticeable difference at 1920x1080 when I toggle it. 6950.

Are you using the newest drivers? What OS and what resolution? You aren't forcing it through CCC or RadeonPro? Just trying to stumble upon something I can tweak to get it working...

No, AFAIR, there won't be such patch. Question was asked many times.

From Antialiasing and Depth of Field do not work?

What we did do, is try to compensate the lack of MSAA by doing anti-aliasing as a post-process effect in the game via a shader. The effect is subtle but we felt it was enough to help some people.
If you feel that the setting absolutely does nothing for you though, then this is an issue we have to look into.

Concerning the depth of field: the effect works but is only activated during in-game dialogs.

If you have any more questions regarding this, feel free to ask them.

Some people were able to get anti-aliasing to work if they disabled HDR lighting, or renamed the executable to force their video card to use a profile for a different game... others couldn't.

I did try enable/disable HDR (and AF) but no effect. I can force AA through CCC but it looks worse than without it due to all the white specs along the edges (same issue as Dead Space 2).

Thanks for the responses. How frustrating that this issue would not be addressed. They go to the trouble of doing a "remastering" and jaggies are not addressed? It is 2011, how much longer do we need to go before game developers realize anti aliasing support is an absolute must have feature?

This game seems like it has a lot of potential, maybe I'll try to sit a lil back from the television and play at 1080 see if I can ignore it but if I was OK with jaggies I wouldn't have a high end gaming rig I would just be a console drone.

I noticed that AA out does not work in the widescreen mode (1440x900). In the mode 4:3(1280x1024)and flag 0x0000F0C1 works fine. How can this problem be decided?

Exsperimental method found that if the game select screen resolution of 1280x800 it actually will be displayed resolution of 1440x900 and AA will work But image blurred frown

You might want to try this - it made FXAA work for me and looks truely excellent:
