I was in the abandoned cave in Aleroth and found a chest. When I tried to open it, it said my lockpick skill wasn't high enough to do this. I went to my skill trainer but found no way to raise the lockpick skill, which is at 5 / 5. Did I miss something, or is it supposed to be opened a different way?

By the way, I also found "Abandoned Key" in the cave, which appears to be useless, as it unlocks nothing in this cave.

The female (I think) trainer in the Aleroth Palace can train it up to 7. No-one else (no, not even your personal trainer).

In ED, the max is 5. In FoV, it's 6 or 7, so the locks you can find also max at that.

There seem to be only 3 lvl 5 chests in ED though, with random loot (mostly potions and stuff), so it doesn't seem worth it...
Not sure about FoV...

Had no idea I was in FoV. Thought I was still in ED, since it didn't actually end or give me any indication that ED was over. There was no final boss battle or credits or anything. Does FoV inject itself into ED before the ending to ED, or was there never an ending to ED?

Oh, and where can I find that trainer? Or, at least the name of who I am looking for. All I found so far in Aleroth was the necromancer.

You use DKS? Then yes, it streamlines from ED to FoV seemsless. Although you should notice by the many .bik movies, the cleaned quest log, many inventory items missing etc.

Use the teleporter to get into the palace, you can find her there.

First, I probably should have mentioned that I am playing on the 360, so I have no idea what .bik movies are.

Also, I do remember the fight in question, but didn't realizes that was the final fight of ED.

Oh, and I must not be far enough in to use it. The only teleporter locations I have access to are Great Market Shrine, Ministry, and Lanilor Lane Shrine. I don't even see a palace on the map.


Edit: It was actually the Ministry, not a palace. That is where I got confused. Also, didn't even occur to me I could go back into the Ministry, since I saw told I couldn't speak to Zandalor.

My bad.

And .bik movies are pre-rendered movies. Like the zeppelin flyby in the begin, the small cutscenes of the towers and trainers on Sentinel Island, etc etc.

the "abandoned key" i think opens the chest on the walkway near the entrance. i think there's a few potions and maybe an accessory in it.
