Larian Studios Forums Divinity II The Dragon Knight Saga / Flames of Vengeance (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Chest in Luxurious' Private Chamber?

I was wondering how to open this chest. I freed Anne, defeated him and all of his guards (here and in the main house), got access to the bedroom with the switches puzzle, but still have found no way into this chest. The only key I found let me into the other cell.

Oh, and I realize I ask a lot of questions about this game (probably more than most), but I really love this game and want to get the most out of it. I appreciate everyones help.

You need Tom's Finger, when you first encunter him- running from Taurus.

Though, i think you need to kill Taurus, then detach Tom of his Finger, before you take it to Luxurius. I dunno if you let Taurus kill Tom, if you can still get his finger off his corpse...

besides, Anne can do MUCH better.

As Sigs said, you need to take Tom's finger. There's no way to let Taurus kill him; Taurus always goes after you first (he doesn't like executions to be witnessed).

That chest is only unloced if you take the finger to Luxurius, then tell him Tom's dead. He'll unlock it before you end up fighting him.

Note that taking the secret way in will get you s skill book as an additional reward, whereas taking Tom's finger won't give one.

Well, I'm actually glad I missed this one, as I got an achievement with Tom alive. After I rescued Anne, I convinced her that Tom was no good for her and she left him, so I got an achievement for convincing her to do that. Don't know if I would have gotten it if Tom had died.

Tom doesn't die. You always end up killing Taurus before he can kill Tom. You only choose between taking Tom's finger (lower reward for quest), or sneaking in somehow (via Taurus' house). And the achievement can be done either way, too, so long as you mindread Tom at some point to learn of his cowardice.

Ah. Well, that's okay. I snuck in through Taurus' House. Didn't even know about the alternate route until after it was too late.
