Hello. I'm sure the answer to this is somewhere in the forums, but I can't seem to find it. I have the original Divinity 2: Ego Draconis for PC (hard copy). If I purchase the Dragon Knight Saga for PC via download (Amazon.com) does it include the original with all the graphics engine improvements and the Flames of Vengeance expansion? Basically, is my original DVD trash can fodder, or do I need it for the DKS to run? I never got beyond level 13 with the original ED, it just ran too poorly on my fairly good PC.

Thanks.

DKS is the combined remastered D2:ED (with the engine and graphics updates, etc) and the add-on FoV, so you would not need the original D2:ED DVD.

For the PC version it is also possible to just get a digital download of FoV and install the (large) D2:ED+FoV to DKS conversion patch, but with Steam and Amazon putting DKS on sale, it would be better to just get DKS.
Installing the add-on would allow you to continue with an existing D2:ED save, but since you didn't get very far before, you would probably want to start a new character anyway.

Thanks much Raze! I've reformatted since then and didn't back up the character, so I'll start from scratch with the Amazon.com download alone.

And yes, your original DVD is thrash can fodder, since DKS can run without disk even if you got a hard-copy (so obviously also if you get the DD-version).

In the short amount of time it took me to make a thread and get an answer they jacked up the price $5 on both Amazon and Steam.
