I'm on level 28 now and playing on a fairly new Xbox. The game has been going well except for one quest I can't complete, because it crashes every time. But that was a side quest, so I'm not really worried about it. But now, my all important Dragon Stone has stopped working. When I pull it up in inventory, I can push buttons all day and nothing happens! It has worked perfectly before now, so I don't get it. I tried it from 5 or 6 different locations and even from inside the Battle Tower...and nothing happens. Could it be a bad disk? Or a programming error? I really hate to lose the whole game after all the hours I've played. And I haven't even made it to the second game yet! Help! What can I try?

When did it stop working?

The dragon stone is disabled during certain fights or in certain regions, but should be enabled again when they are finished, unless there was a glitch or you exited abnormally. Ie in D2:ED it was possible to enter the bunker at the start of the fjords, start the fight and then fall through the force field covering the hatch, so the dragon stone was disabled and you could not re-enter to finish the fight.

Starting or completing a main plot quest should get the dragon stone working again. Talking to the statues in the waterfall cave at the beginning of the fjords to get the seeds quest has helped a couple people.

If you don't have any main quests that you can get/complete (not sure if anyone has tried side quests to see if they would also work), email support@larian.com with a description of the problem. With your save they should be able to reset the dragon stone (and/or figure out what cause the problem); see Lar's post here on how to send them an Xbox save.

I've already completed the dragon statues/seed quest and I haven't fallen through any force fields. I didn't even know you could do that. I guess I'll try to email support if I can figure out how to send them a save. Maybe they can come up with something. But thanks for the suggestions. I hate to, but I might have to start all over again.

I don't know if you can still fall through the bunker force field in DKS (I would assume they fixed that).

Do you have any other quests to turn in?
The dragon stone can get disabled temporarily fighting the flying fortress bosses (at least with Stone), so finishing off one may enable it again.
