I ran into a glitch the first time I entered the Hall of Echoes, where the memory eaters were too tough. Even if that isn't the case, the strategies I used (quoted from another topic in the spoiler below) on nightmare may help you. You can also return to the battle tower from the dragon sections of the Hall of Echoes (to get equipment or make potions, etc), though will not be able to use the teleporter to go anywhere else. I couldn't remember if you could unseal the door to the Hall of Echoes and complete that quest before actually entering, but I had a recent save, so tried that on the way back from the Gremory chest. It turns out you get the experience as you enter, so I decided to check out the Hall of Echoes, even though I had a couple minor things left to do.
In principle the changes to the memory eaters looked good, but the difficulty spike seemed insane. A Fire Sphere could only do about 5-10% damage, and unless they were at the far end of range, there was no way to avoid their seeking attacks. I started doing ok once by taking out the first couple nests and then circling around the area high up, but by the time I took out the first memory eater there were half a dozen more, making it impossible to survive.
After dying several times, I exited to the main menu rather than load a save, then decided to give it one more shot before I went to bed, so loaded the auto-save. The game seemingly changed the difficulty level (the setting remained on Nightmare) as this time the memory eaters were easy to defeat, attacks were relatively easy to avoid and the nests seemed slower spitting out opponents. I kept going when I was done, and the arena was also fairly easy.
The next day I reloaded the save at the Gremory chest, and double checked the difficulty setting, not wanting to make it through the Hall of Echoes only because the game decided to make it easier.
... I returned to the battle tower and retrieved a couple pieces of dragon equipment from the chest, that had a shield skill bonus (and I put my 3 spare points into that skill), as well as the +40% defence bonus leggings (which I didn't end up needing). Earlier I removed all dragon equipment except for the Bone Dragon Cuirass (+40% hit points) and Bone Dragon Leggings (+40% offence) once I could max Firebreath, Fire Sphere, Dragon Spirit and Dragon Burst without the need for equipment spell bonuses.
I only had about 10 each of healing and rejuvenation potions, so farmed for enough ingredients to make a stack of each (while wearing my +3 Master Herbalist earrings, of course)...
Returning to the Hall of Echoes, the memory eaters were tough, but not nearly as much as in my first attempt (the Dragon Shield spell also helped a bit). The memory eaters could be killed with 2 (or sometimes 3) Fire Spheres, while the generals needed 3-5, depending on how much they healed; attacks at mid range (that I could see coming) could usually be avoided. Two memory eaters at a time were not too dangerous, especially if they were close together. Three increased the difficulty, and 4 started to make things quite dangerous.
Unlike D2:ED, it was ineffective to circle around nests while using target lock (and having a flaky target lock in DKS didn't help either). I found it best if there was a memory eater in the distance when going after a nest to try and sit on the opposite side while using Firebreath (to hopefully block any seeking attacks), then hightail it out of there to avoid taking too much damage from the memory eater if it got close (fly, heal, then turn and use Fire Sphere).
The arena was fairly challenging. In the previous play session (when the game made things easy) I didn't even summon my creature, and think I only needed 1 potion. This time combat became much more hectic, with more and tougher summoned minions, which required more potions and strategic running away tactics in a couple places. My creature even died, which hasn't happened very much when it started off a fight at full health.
I'm assuming the difficulty level when I first entered the Hall of Echoes was a glitch, and the second was how it was meant to be. I don't see how it would be possible to take out all the nests with Fire Sphere doing so little damage to the memory eaters (the nests didn't seem to be particularly resistant to Firebreath). I also had a problem the first time I encountered the large group below the Grand Knight teleporter shrine in the fjords, where opponents barely took any damage, especially at long range (the next day I loaded the same save and tried again, and they took normal damage).

There is a skill book on the floor at the top of the stairs between the short entrance hallway and the main room. If you don't already have the Healing spell or spare skill points to put into it or Regenerate, or maybe Summon Ghost or Summon Demon, Hide in Shadows, etc, that may help a bit (there were also a few skill points available in the arena from mindreads). D2:ED topics with suggestions for the fight itself: I need help with a battle (Spoilers) Ygerna's memory help im stuck in hall of echoes

Well I got through that part
I had to go back and do the whole part over
But there is something I do not understand:
There was a very large video segment and then finally a spectre lifted me out of the glass prison I was in
I ended up back in Alreroth:
I have the feeling that I lost the game
Is this correct?
I have been given a task in Aleroth but what happened to all the quests that were in my logbook?
Thank you Raze

Glad you got it. As Divine Avenger said, the Hall of Echoes is the final section of D2:ED. You will not be able to return to the fjords or Broken Valley. You can go back to your battle tower, but the teleporter is broken, so you can not get outside on Sentinel Island. There is a bit of a setback at the end of D2:ED, so I can see where you got the feeling you lost (there is only one ending), but you will be able to make things right at the end of FoV.

So I received the only ending that was possible for D2:ED? But Flame of Vengeance was a separate game that I bought separately So if I hadn't bought Flame of Vengeance I would have just had to settle for a bad ending (loser) Is that right? Is all this correct? I don't understand because: I spent a small amount of time playing around with Flame of Vengeance maybe a week ago (way before I finished D2:ED The character I chose was automatically given 45,000 gold and began the same mission I am doing now It was a different character than the one I have now The character I am utilising now carried over from D2:ED However, some things disappeared [example-summon demon] It is completely vanished from the chart and from my quicksave function keys Can you please explain this?

I need help with something else:
There is a key lying in a pile of burning corpses
I have tried every angle I can possibly utilise
The character does not mark it or pick it up
What can I do to get this key?
Also, when you aquire formulas: What do you do with them?
How do you make them work?

the formulas will be saved & removed from your inventory every time you speak to an enchanter or an alchamist if there not saved then you already have the recipe wich means you can sell them. As for the key you need to side with the guard & have the bodys burned or you won't be able to get the key.

How do I reverse (if I need to) to side with the guard instead of Vito? Or do I need to? All right I went to speak with Chanelle (alchemist) I have two formulas: 1.Formula of Extreme Retribution Aura Jewellery Enhancement Formula 2.Formula of Advanced Static Charge Aura Jewellery Enhancement Formula But Chanelle is not offereing to do anything to interact with these formulas What is wrong?

Without the add-on FoV, the end of D2:ED is you getting stuck in the crystal and then the cutscenes of Damian and Ygerna, and the Black Ring attacking the fjords. Before the add-on was announced, a few people were a tad peeved about the ending.
FoV is an add-on that continues the story from the end of D2:ED, or you can create a new level 35 character (as you found, with gold to get you started buying equipment). If you go into the custom character setup, you can also possibly access extra skill levels for some skills (that you max) compared to continuing with a D2:ED character).
You should still be able to use Summon Demon in FoV, if you had it in D2:ED. Did you change equipment, and loose that skill bonus, or not re-learn it after unlearning your skills? There are two trainers in the ministry to raise level caps, only one of which would have the Summon Demon spell (or you can return to your battle tower trainer).
After the cutscene where the healer was trying to stop the soldier from burning the undead corpses, you are asked to choose sides. If you side with the healer you get experience points, if you side with the soldier you can leave the immediate area and then return to get the key (for the nearby chest). I tried it both ways, and reloaded a few times at the chest, but got relatively poor random loot (so I reloaded again and took the experience). On the other hand, if you get the key, missing the experience isn't a big deal, since opponents in caves (and the Crow's Nest, which you'll get access to later) respawn, so you can go through a few times if you want more experience.
If you wish to level it helps to delay turning in quests, especially since some opponents don't respawn after you complete one of the main plot quests.

The alchemist will only use potion formula. For jewellery/armour/weapon formula, you need to talk to your enchanter in the battle tower, or find the one on the top floor of the Phoenix Inn, off the great marketplace.

All Right, I have successfully activated Bedwyr as an Enchanter But I dont know what to do (specifically about the formulas I have in my possession) I can't find an interaction for Bedwyr to do for me with these formulas How do I do it? I don't want to SELL him my formulas but rather have him do "something with" the formulas so that they are added to my collection of knowledge I hope that makes sense the way I worded it

You need to do a quest to get Bedwyr's enchantment machinery going; he should have a speech option about that. I delayed turning in most quests until I had explored pretty much everywhere in Aleroth that I could get to, so mostly used my battle tower enchantment machinery (no need to talk to the enchanter).
If you get into the enchant/unenchant function by using the machine in your battle tower or talking to either enchanter, then the formula in your inventory will get added to what is available to put on equipment, or you already have them, and can sell those formula.

Yes but i already completed his quest and the machine is working Ok I'm listening but I'm not understanding: If you get into the enchant/unenchant function by using the machine in your battle tower or talking to either enchanter, then the formula in your inventory will get added to what is available to put on equipment, or you already have them, and can sell those formula. [/quote I've never seen something added automatically Why is Bedwyr not adding? He now qualifies as an enchanter But he is not showing any options that can be done with these formulas I know how to charm I right click on my item I see charm (I have several to choose from) I charm my items There is no option like that for these formulas They are totally different I figured out one part (I did NOT have the herbs) for these formulas but that still does not answer If I HAD the herbs what would I DO with the formula? Could I do it MYSELF or would I HAVE to have a character like BEDWYR to do it?
