First of all Hi at all!!! Second: A problem, i'm in the Keara General Quarter and i need to enter into the Private Room, but to do so I have to reclame the correct name of the 5 statues. I have tried but i cannot manage to find the correct sequence. Please help, maybe also a map that show the correct position of the statue with its name, it coul be useful. Thank you to all for the tips!!! Bye!!

cut and paste from a faq:
Devastation is statue who stands alone
Mayhem:Statue says "same room as waste"(red room)
Havoc(second red room)
Waste in the right corner(green room)
Chaos(second in green room)
-
I actually think there is a bug here; 3 have obvious names but I believe the last two are ambiguous - of course this means it only take 2 tries but still I wonder if when the text was translated to english if an error was introduced ?
-
Well I found waste and chaos answers non-conclusive. note the hint given at the start if you mind read is that the statue never tell the truth. It is a very useful hint smile

See Keara's statue names for how I figured it out; I didn't need to guess on any names.

Yes, it's a nice logical puzzle and one of my favorites so far in DKS !

Best to think about :
this RPG is also "an old school rpg" ... where the best tactic is to write down notes on a piece of paper while playing the game !! wink

I just can't seem to help myself I'll be quite happyley playing & I'll see something said (like the stuff Romon & Neberius say about Lovis) & I'll think that sounds like it might be imortent let's write it down.

Has anyone ever experienced a bug with the statues? Only one of the five statues actually "talks" to me (Waste). I only get "continue" from the other 4 when I ask them about their clue. I tried earlier saves, but no luck so far.

I got frustrated and just started a new game. LOL (all I have left are Keara's Fortress and of course, Hall of Echoes, which also frustrated me, because I die sooooooooo quick in there. :sigh:)

Guess I need a fresh install? Well, I want to get the DKS/FoV edition anyway. lol

Agrona, do you play on Xbox or PC?

For PC I think there's a patch on the Larian site to get the remastered version, but for the Xbox you can best buy DKs and .. besides it is great remastered (and no bug so far I know with the statues in Keara's Fortress), you then have also the second part Flames of Vengeance (FoV) !
so far I can only say aboud FoV : Awesome, funny, lovely .. a big Wooooow !! laugh

But, you can also ask Larian for helping you out (but with an Xbox then you must use a convert-program (or some sort of thing) so you can send your Xbox savegame via email ...

And: next time you go into the Hall of Echoes (i die also more than once ...), my strategy is as folowing:
give the Dragon Skill Polymorph a shot (and maybe also Summon Friend). So start immediately to destroty all the Nests and in the meanwhile the Nests cast fort an enemy, polymorh that enemies as fast as possible and go on with destroying nests! Don't forget to invest at least 3 or 4 points (I take 5) in Dragon Spirit wink

The missing text for Keara's statues is a known bug in some of the original D2:ED releases. It was supposedly going to be fixed in the 'next patch', but there has yet to be another patch (the North American PC version got a small patch to fix a crash on shutdown problem some people encountered, and the Xbox version got one to fix a potential issue saving over existing saves).

You will still be able to name the statues if you look up the clues and/or solution (in the above topic, or this one in a D2:ED forum).

Thanks everyone for the fast replies! smile

@ Joram: I'm playing the PC version (PC gamer all the way here lol).
Yes, I've seen your other post where you mention Polymorph, so I might try that. I thought I had to kill all the flying creatures in the Halls of Echoes, but I also read that I should just focus on the towers. Oh yea, I always summon my friend. The Wyvern is a great distraction! Also, all my Dragon stills are maxed, but I have no points in Polymorph. lol Go figure.

Cool, so I could patch my version to the remastered one and then just pay for the FoV add on? That would be awesome. I'll have to check into that! Thanks.

@ Raze: OK, good to know. I thought it was just me (with the bug). I tried to just name all statues based on some solutions I found, but the door wouldn't let me through. I guess I'll check for the remastered version and hope that this will fix it.

Oh also, thanks for the great tips concerning the Halls of Echoes. smile

You need to install FoV first, then the DKS conversion patch. With FoV you will be able to continue with an existing D2:ED save, but there were too many changes in DKS to maintain saved game compatibility. After installing the conversion patch you would need to start a new character, either at the beginning of the D2:ED section, or a new level 35 character at the beginning of FoV.

Thanks Raze! I was wondering about that. I just buy DKS and FoV, since I read a post in your link that Larian approached DKS almost like a brand new game and that the old version can't be converted. So, I just get the remastered one and FoV. smile

BTW... Holy post count Raze! LOL I love forums, but I don't think I've EVER accumulated such a high post count! smile

Well yea, but the dev said in his post that it doesn't come close to all the changes in DKS. I want the brand new, improved version! LOL

Wow 18K, didn't think anyone would have more posts than you! LOL

You need either FoV or DKS, not both. DKS is the remastered D2:ED and FoV together.

With FoV installed you have the option of playing the original release version of D2:ED (with some graphics and engine updates) or install the conversion patch and get the rest of the updates and changes in DKS.

OH!!!!!! I just now looked at your link and they are able to convert it to DKS! Hmm, wonder what the Euro rate is. Might be cheaper to buy DKS & FoV from Amazon in US dollars, instead of spending 19.95 Euros on FoV hahaha

Thanks a ton for the link though!

Currently 19.95 Euros is US$27.58 (it may be cheaper elsewhere). DKS has gone on sale a couple times on Steam / Amazon for $20-25, so you may want to get DKS rather than FoV, and skip having to download the conversion patch in addition to the add-on.

Yea, exactly! That's my plan! smile Just get a nice, fresh install.

Thanks for all your help, Raze!
