Just thought I'd make conversation so what kind of fillms does everyone like, me I like loads of different kinds but I love romantic comedys & action films for the most part. I've seen so many it would be hard to choose 1 that I love above all but my top favourites would be. Dragonheart - because unlike most films with Dragons in there not made out to be visious monsters Gladiator - That film is just so amazing & so tragic at the same time ....Poor Maximus Big Trouble in Little China - Because that film is so cheesy & funny you can't help but laugh Pirate's of the Carribian 1,2 & 3 - because I'm obsessed with Pirate's as well as Dragons lol & Orlando Bloom lol Kingdom of Heaven - Because I love all films with knights in them.....& Orlando Bloom is just a bonus 50 first dates - because I find it funny & sweet bless LadyHawk - That film is just ...... Wow awsome, Romance & action all in one so amazing I could go on forever but I think I'll stop there for now So what about everyone else what kind of films do you love

- The Fisher King - simply mystical - this influenced me into developing a writing style that silently mixes fantasy with reality - How To Train Your Dragon - with/has a strong message behing it ! - The Last Unicorn - unique - The Dark Crystal - unique - Star Wars (the first and original movie) - apart from the hype, it's a nice movie set within a universe that is inhabited by citizens of all imaginable races

Yeah I love Star Wars but I forgot about the Dark Crystal & your right that Film is a unique gem now that you remind my about unique gems another of my all time favourites would be Labyrinth - that film is brilliant, another unique gem of a film (You Have No Power Over Me)

I liked the Dark Crystal a lot more when I was about 10 than rewatching it a couple years ago when I bought the DVD.
In no particular order, and some of these would probably change if I answered again sometime:
Princess Mononoke
Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within (the special eddition was one of the first DVDs I ever bought - I watched the movie then 2 of the full length comentaries in a row, one of which showed different scenes in various stages of production)
Blade Runner
Seven Samurai / The Magnificent Seven (the western remake)
They Call Me Trinity / Trinity is Still My Name
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
The Secret of NIMH
Dragonslayer (special effects still hold up pretty well today)
Conan the Barbarian / Destroyer
Dirty Dozen
Ninja Scroll
Ghost in the Shell
The Thing
Strange Brew
Deathrace 2000
Tank Girl (speaking of unique)

I Liked Spirits within but only if I think of it as Spirits Within & not Final Fantasy Spirits Within. For a film that's an offshoot of the Final Fantasy Seires it's complete sh** but as a stand alone film it's not too bad.

They were a great new interpretation, but from an artistic point of view, I find others more creative - and impressive to me.

They will be far too dark for a children's book. Judging from the pictures I sawso far. Mr. Jackson will most likely expand the horror routeonce again. Which I don't like at all - especially since The Hobbit is a children's book and not a Stephen King novel !

yeah but the Lord of the Rings Books are pretty Dark at times anyway, even though there supposed to be childrens books there still not the type of book you'd want to give to a kid thats faint of heart.

No. I don't consider LOTR as "children's ooks. Maybe the beginning of part I, yes, that maybe, but the rest - no.
Although I liked them very mich as a teenager.
But not for children.
There's a clear difference - especially in language - between LOTR and The Hobbit, imho.

Avatar (2009) I rate it 10/10! It has yet still today best 3D effects I have seen. I went twice to see it in the movie theaters together with other people including my brother who wanted to see it twice. Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Scifi
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) I rate it 10+/10? The movie that really felt like best movie if I would say which I like most of these then this movie! The second and third LOTR movie I rank 9/10 and this was closest to the Tolkien books. Hobbit movies were ok for me to see, but not same excellent standard as the LOTR movies. Action, Adventure, Drama
Aliens (1986) I rate it 10/10! Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi, Horror! The first Alien movie was new idea, but this movie has better effects then the first movie.
Movies that I rate 9/10.
Doomsday (2008) I rate it 9/10... Brutal action I like it... Action, Sci-Fi, Thriller
Fright Night (2011) I rate this 9/10 Comedy, Horror While I like the original very much indeed this felt a bit more fresh and modern movie. Typical for Fright Night movies is that despite they are Vampire movies they are at least slightly more scary then typical Vampire movies for me.
Ginger Snaps (2000) I rate it 9/10. Drama, Fantasy, Horror While there are other Werewolf movies I rank 9/10 like Howling (1981) (rest of Howling movies I do not recommend) and Dog Soldiers (2001) these are my favorite Werewolf movies...
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) I rate it 9/10. SCIFI and Action. Better effects then the first movie. I have seen all Terminator movies but this is still the best one for me.
The Descent (2005) I rate it 9/10. Adventure, Horror, Thriller Survival of the fittest Horror!
The Thing (1982) I rate it 9/10. Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi This is the most scary movie that I have seen... it is considered by many Horror experts the most scary movie made!
Underworld (2003) I rate it 9/10 Action | Fantasy | Thriller I like all Underworld movies, but this first one was a new idea.
Well and yes I know Avatar 2 will come out towards end of this year in cinemas in December 2022 unless I am mistaken.
Honorable mentions? That would be huge list if I put every movie that I rate 8/10. Top Gun Maverick was a 8/10 movie for me if I need to name one movie still in cinema theatres.

What I like best is the puzzle movie Now You See Me. The most striking thing is how the main characters make one large-scale performance after another, gradually approaching the goal. I would also like to highlight the film Interstellar. The shocking story by Christopher Nolan, one of the most extraordinary directors of our time, is based on the real-life work of theoretical physicist Kip Thorne. Every night after work, I go to www.999flix.com and enjoy my favourite movies, good quality. I'm sure you couldn't pass by these masterpieces and have watched them.
