Hi all. I recently bought Div 2 DKS and I'm having a lot of fun with it, but now I've got this problem that I have to solve before going further. I must get rid of the blur effect that appears when flying in dragon form. There isn't an option to disable it (or I couldn't find it -- turning HDR off won't work) and Google won't help me find a workaround.
You might think that it's a rather minor annoyance, but please understand that I just can't stand motion blur. I don't get its purpose, as for me it only turns games into a confusing mess, so I always disable it immediately and I'm surprised I can't do that in DKS. I know that it must be there for a reason and 99% of people must like it, but I'm in the tiny minority that can't even play the game with the thing on.

Another issue I have with the game is that I experience occasional crashes to desktop when changing location through doors. More often than not the game will crash when entering the necromancers' cave in Sentinel island -- 3 times out of 5 attempts to enter that place -- but luckily there isn't much business to be done in there. That aside, I had a couple other crashes, one in the battle tower when leaving the training platform.
I also encountered far more frequent crashes (more than a dozen) when using shrines. It seems that most of the time the game will crash if I try to teleport between shrines that are in large open areas, such as the citadel shrine in Lovis' tower or one of the valley shrines in Broken Valley. The south valley shrine in particular crashed the game twice in a row when teleporting from it to elsewhere. However, teleporting to the west valley shrine always worked, as far as I can remember, and so did teleporting to the village shrine. Teleporting to shrines in interiors (such as the Maxos temple) always worked.
I went through the support topic already. My theory is that I'm simply pushing my old laptop to the limits of its hardware. My specs are

Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.5 GHz)
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT
4 GB RAM
Windows Vista

I keep medium to low settings and get under 20 FPS, but I'd rather keep the settings as they are than settling for lower quality. If I'm doomed to get crashes like this then so be it, I can live with the annoyance. It's not nearly as bad as the motion blur.

Any help is greatly appreciated, especially with the first issue. Thank you.

I don't know if it would help any in dragon form, but from the D2:ED topic Blur effect:

Your solution: In the options - graphics menu, if you go down with the arrow keys you can see lots of graphics options (which can be very difficult to find first time). Remove the tick from "render shaft lights" then puff annoying bloom problem is gone. If you want also sharp graphics in the dialogs, remove the tick from the "depth of field". Play & enjoy. opa

I played the Xbox versions of D2:ED and DKS (the effect in dragon form being noticeably stronger in DKS), and would have gladly give up performance or graphics detail to get rid of the blur effect.

A couple people have mentioned random crashes using doors or teleporters, though I think more in the original release of D2:ED than DKS.
Try emailing support@larian.com, with a description of the problem and maybe a link to this topic (DKS support page).

Thank you for the reply and the welcome. Unfortunately I already play with "render light shafts" and "depth of field" disabled and the blur is still there.
One thing I didn't mention is that the very first time I transformed into a dragon (after defeating Laiken) there wasn't any blur while flying at normal speed. The effect only appeared when "sprinting" (using the RMB on PC, I don't know the Xbox equivalent).
Reading the last post in that thread it looks like someone else was left with the same problem in the end, and nobody ever replied. So either it's a system-specific bug or it really doesn't bother anyone else that much. I guess that I'll write to support and ask them for some sort of workaround.

I didn't really notice the blur effect being so strong until getting to the fjords. It is possible the effect was less around Sentinel Island, or maybe it was just less noticeable given the surroundings (the only nearby background object being the battle tower, etc).

On the Xbox the 'dragon dash' is triggered by the left shoulder button. I didn't use it very much, and mostly forgot about it.

I emailed support and they replied that they there is no way to turn off the motion blur. I'll just have to live with it, a minor compromise for a good game.
