"anyway of getting rid of them?"

Yes, keep killing them. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> The cat in Aleroth will stay friendly.

I disagree: dogs have a high social conscience, comparable to the 3 musketeers: One for all and all for one <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

You must've killed a dog sometime because I attack wolves all game long and dogs don't care. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Purpose of Lar: Was a bet between Lar and his programmers, if he could be included in the game without Lar noticing it - well, I guess, you can see who won.

My XP: I let Lar live, killed wolves and was later on attacked by all dogs, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/puppyeyes.gif" alt="" /> sniff.

But I was lucky with cats!! I even protected Kitty in Aleroth with Aura of Guarding and Spellshield, so the orcs would not kill her. The city there is empty now = save her, she still walks around with her both halos.

I have never been able to save the poor kitty. How does one cast those protective spells on her, or others? I haven't ever been able to do it. Does the skill need to be at a certain level?

And my memory is stilly(^TM), and I don't remember Lar the dog. Where is he? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Activate the spell then right click on her.
Lar the dog is in the Dwarven Bread Inn. Do you know where Wouter, the marked one stood? The room directly north of him.
Sometimes you see a dwarf in this room (dwarven teleporter scroll) sometimes the dog. He turns hostile, if you enter the room!!!

Thanks, Kiya. ( Or do you prefer the small "k"?) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I think I have only seen the dwarf in there, myself. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I only once had a problem with dogs.
My experience is that the dog in the farmlands attacks on sight if you walk into one of those first meadows.
I never had the problem later on. I let the meadows be the meadows and just walked up to the houses. He didn't attacked me. When he's out of sight you can explore as much as you like.
-I don't really think this is a solution. It's just what I experienced.
