so if I understand, if a formula is still in your inventory after speaking with Alchemist or Enchanter that means you have it already and it is ok to sell?

I'm not sure if just speaking to the enchanter or alchemist is enough; you may need to go into their respective functions. When I was playing I kept a list of the best formula I had, and sold and lesser or duplicate ones (or low level ones I didn't want). I visited merchants a lot more frequently than the alchemist or enchanter, so never noticed if just talking to them was enough.

It's indeed a very good idea/plan to make for yourself a list of the Formula's you already have activated via Alchemist and/or Enchanter respective function

I did this too, very helpful ! And the same with the bodyparts by the Necromancer for my Creature

(but to be honest : I always make notes and more - like making a excel file with hero's stats etc - playing a rpg)
