About the numbers of malachite gems though I'll always get one less of what I should. I did a terrible mistake early on. I sold a malachite gem back to Lomote or whatever his name was, the broken valley merchant in front of the cathedral. His prices were down after a mindread, so he was selling each malachite gem for 1500 gold but my sell-back price was still 2000. So I sold one back for a net gain of 500 gold pieces! I did this for two reasons, firstly I thought I would get more of these from veins just like gold and iron, next to that it felt like a great bargain at that time. I used this kind of tricks in a few rpgs like Tes:Morrowind with great deal of success before to make quick money. When I realized what insane atrocity I've had committed, it was too late. So that bargain ended up costing me dearly :hits his head in the wall:
