Hello:

First time posting.

I have twice lost my weapon. I have it, then something happens and I am fighting bare handed.

It is not in my inventory. I retrace my steps (as best I can) and find nothing.

The first time (in the room I'm teleported to when I scry with Lovis' orb) I could reload a quick save. The second time I apparently quick saved afer I lost the sword. The last "real" save is over 1 hour ago.

What's happening??

One possible clue: both times I *think* I may have been walking in water when it went missing.

IIRC for the PC version the F1-F3 keys switch between weapon sets. Could you have accidentally hit one of the keys and switched to an unassigned set?

I have the Xbox version, where you automatically switch between melee weapons and a bow using an associated attack or skill. There is no way to switch from a melee weapon to an unarmed attack without specifically unequipping the weapon.

If you did loose the sword, try emailing support@larian.com, with a description of the problem and maybe a link to this topic. See the appropriate support page for DKS or FoV. While they may not be able to restore the sword, it couldn't hurt to include the quicksave. Unless you found some awesome loot you want to keep, though, it would be faster to just replay the last hour. You could get a new sword, but if you continue playing in a save that had some weird glitch, I don't know if that would make possible future glitches more likely, or not.

In XP the saves are in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

or in Vista / Win 7

C:\Users\ %username% \AppData\Local\Divinity 2\Savegames

You may need to set Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders (XP, Vista, Win 7).

I saved the game at the point where I had no weapon, so I was able to reload and test your theory.

Yes, that is exactly what happened. Hitting F1 brought the weapon back to my hand. I could even see it in the Inventory Screen when I looked at the 3 weapon slots on the left hand side. Live and learn.

Thank-you, Raze, for your quick and accurate answer!

Glad it wasn't some weird glitch, and a belated welcome to the forum. wave

I remember, from playing the first Divinity game, that these forums were a welcoming and useful place.

I have to say that these forums and the good people found here are a huge incentive for buying and playing Larian games! (As if these wonderful games require any additional incentive)
