I suspect you are right that that's what went wrong with Bioware, DA, yes.
As to the EA stock drop, I'm going to guess that Origin took a lot of money to set up, but that sales have dropped off on EA titles, with the combination leading to a huge drop in profits.
Whether or not that's just a temporary blip is something else, of course...
