D:OS will use Steamworks for online multi-player, but not local games, so there will not be any online profile required.
Doesn't games which uses Steamworks have to use the Steam client? And I thought games which are not connected to your Steam account cannot use any features of your Steam client. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Steamworks + no DRM works
