From the research i have done, Divinty 2 sold more copys on release than divine divinity, and its only recently in the last 5 or so years that gaming has become a major part of peoples lives, those who bought and played divine divinity on release were in a generation where gaming was considered a nerdy thing and not as many people were gamers, so it stands true, as to any developer to tailor to the majority, or have it tailor to both sides of the coin and have the mix, like i mentioned, where the dragon knight does the fighting, and maybe kick him in the head back, and for the divine to decide his fate, and imo i grow a lot more attached to a character if i made him/her myself, and to have the camera in 3rd person and less "birds eye view" than divine divinty was, so in divine divininty i was never very attached to my character because i never made her from scratch, and because of the camera being far away, which makes me feel distant, i was just some dude in the sky, not my character, it like being in a different country to a friend, but by the end of divinty 2 DKS i was so grown attached to my character, it felt wrong to start a new character.
