I didn't find trade awkward in DD, and set the F1 hotkey to
restoration potions (when I had a high enough health/mana they were more effective than separate potions). I did accidentally try to Repair / Lockpick opponents a couple times, though, after forgetting to switch back to a combat skill.
The third person perspective can be more immersive, but at least with the controls in DKS it limits the world interaction quite a bit.
