That's the gist of the problem. After speaking to Talara, the screen tries to load but stops completely.

All right...Found the solution after doing a forum search...I had to turn down Dynamic Geometry Distance Rendering to the lowest setting. Now, everything loads up perfectly.

Try validating the game files.

You may have found this already, but: Freeze at loading screen, can't exit to Windows.

Did you try skipping through the conversation, rather than let it end on its own?

If you browse to the video folder in Windows Explorer, can you identify the cutscene video by name, and see if it plays in Windows Media Player?

For DKS you could try switching to windowed mode and see if that lets you get past that cutscene: Solution to crash (black screen) on XP.
