This one : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kult:_Heretic_Kingdoms

It's an very unusual RPG.

Other RPGs : "Gods : Lands Of Infinity" (astonishingly no Wikipedia entry available, but mentioned here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cypron and here : http://www.gamespot.com/gods-lands-of-infinity/reviews/gods-lands-of-infinity-review-6175927/ ), and Neverend (no Wikipedia entry, either, found only this : http://www.gamespot.com/neverend/reviews/neverend-review-6159818/ ) .

I don't care if the protagonist in games is male or female. As long as the rest of the game is good then it does not matter to me.

Odin Sphere, Xenosaga trilogy, Valkyrie Profile trilogy, Final Fantasy X, X-2 and XIII have female leads too.

Outside of jRPGs, there is Summoner 2 that hasn't been mentioned yet.

Wait so women are allowed to be protagonists now whats next them being allowed to vote

in all seriousness though as long as you can customize your dragon its cool with me to have no character customization as i don't believe you even get to see the actual character in this game or am i wrong?

You point out to an interesting thing : Outside of JRPGs, there are only very, very few female protagonists ...

Quoted from Wikipedia :

Gender discrimination and censorship

The titular hero in the Japanese game Ninja Princess was turned into a male character in the English version of the game, re-titled as Sega Ninja.[12] A number of female enemies in the Japanese beat'em up games were also either gender-changed or removed in the export versions.[13]

I don't care what the gender is. I also don't care for character customization in this case, cause I'm going to be imagining myself as a dragon while aboard The Raven.

Looks like it. On the Raven you're stuck in first person mode, on the battlefield you have your dragon form. Everybody refers to you as either 'Commander' or just 'you' and your marriages are clearly political.

With only a very small bit of clever writing, the Commander's gender need never be mentioned at all, leaving it up to the player to decide what they are and what they look like (though I suspect most players are going to assume the Commander is 'Male' anyway because that's the 'default' gender).

The only wrinkle here is cutscenes, since I do expect to see the Dragon Knight's human form in those - but if they're heavily armoured or shot from behind, it's still possible to get away with it. In the end, Larian might even be able to go with a 'Samus is a Girl' moment. delight

Maybe the character creation is only for the dragon creation. I think the only important thing is that you are able to create the dragon. Especially for people who don't like the new dragon and want to play the dragon from divinity 2.

The problem with the fixed gender is that there is no problem, best example Tomb Raider delight

Wouldn't it be a bit strange if you were to marry a princess whilst being female?

Implying that same sex marriage isn't allowed in the Divinity universe :P

We already know there are only princesses, not princes. So we should be able to only play as a girl.

Dragon Commander would be the first game where you can ONLY have same sex marriage (and it would need some funny lore as to how and why humanity didn't die out XD ).

Considering you're a Dragon Knight who can marry dwarves, lizards, imps, elves and skeletons, I think I can confidently say that procreation isn't the point of these marriages. Heck, love isn't even the point of these marriages. Power is the point. Influence is the point.

So in this case, gender doesn't really matter.

Also, the whole of humanity isn't doomed when two people of the same gender marry. You might as well say that the whole of humanity is doomed when two infertile people marry.

I was more thinking of only same sex marriage being allowed, and those who don't respect the law are chased down and burnt on stakes while the people boo them evil
(yes, I'm just going crazy all by myself)

You call it going crazy, I call it a depressingly common argument.

Lesbian Female Dragon Knight gets my vote as well.

BTW there has been several games where the fixed protagonist has been female they just aren't as numerous as the male dominated games.

One that I can recall right off the bat is a Playstation One game called Koudelka. Very good game.

I never had any console, I must admit ... I nce thought if the PC platform is slowly but steadily transforming into a "male epeen platform" ? I mean, all of these military shooters and combat-related action games ... At the Games Com one would get the impression as if most of gaming *in general* was entirely consisting of shooters, FPS games of any kind, and especially military shooter games ... Their marketing was overwhelming, and there were very few colours within the landscape (posters, mainly), too ...

The SIMs & SIM City seems to be the only non-combat game lft. Everything else has at least some sort of combat included.

Even adventure games seem to become more and more action games.
