In broken valley, north of the mysterious shrine west of lovis's tower, (most likely the first one encountered by most) is casper, who explains his all at the same time, grim, sad, and hilarious fate that he has been soul-forged with a chicken!

Is there any way to help the poor guy? which chicken is it? does he actually die if said chicken is slain?

There is no way to help Casper. I tried herding the chicken to him in my first game, when I couldn't report back where it was, became annoyed at its refusal to move more than a couple feet in the right direction, and (since I had a recent save) killed it.


One of the chickens in the mysterious shrine area is white; that is the one soul forged with Casper (it may not be there before you talk to him).

When two creatures are soul forged together, killing one will kill the other.

I do think it's a pity there's no way to save him, but I guess that's the nature of a soul forge...

You would think they would put in a way to help the poor fella!
