Hello.
I'm trying to open up the gate to kill the vampire in the cave, who previously was trying to kill the child. And I can't find anywhere across Google of how to open it. I have Telekinesis of level 2, and I have teleporter stones. But my mouse curser still shows me a cross when I put it next to the lever on the other side. I cannot cast anything and I cannot drop the teleporter stones to the other side. Some walkthroughs were saying you need lvl 1 and some were saying I need lvl 2 telekinesis. It doesn't work.
I'm a warrior, I don't want to spend any skill points on something I'm only ever going to use once in the play time of this character. I dont want to spend any coins. As a warrior, I should have a functionality to bash through doors. It doesn't make sense why I should be using skills of other classes if I want to master one.
By the way, this game is latest update/patch. So I'm wondering if that is the case of why I'm unable to cast any spell onto the other side.
Or may be I need it higher level?
Is there any other alternatives?
Thank you.

If you right click on the ground to activate Telekinesis (level 2), you should be able to then left click on the lever on the other side. Alternately, level 2 Lockpick will let you open the gate.

Playing a warrior I maxed Telekinesis with purchased skill books. I don't have any problem learning skills from other classes, though, and also maxed Lockpick (you can get 2 levels in Verdistis, though need one level first, and another level of Pickpocket, which I got from an equipment bonus).

Free skills, and spell books you can buy

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply. Now the weird thing was. I clicked on the ground as you said, and then clicked to the lever - it didn't work (as I already tried that before). But then I tried and did the same thing again, and although my mouse was still showing me the red cross - it worked smile May be it was a wee bug?
But still, I think if different classes had their own way of doing things without much exclusions it would have been better - as you could focus on things that you really need for your class.
But thank you!

I've seen that red cross while I use Telekinesis on the lever ... but it work on level 2. It confused me each time again laugh !

I always search for equipment by merchants that have a bonus for skills I only wish to use a few times. To be honest : it's eating "time" & asks for "good luck" to find 2 different pieces with telekinesis (or another skill) wink

Hi, yeah it is a bit confusing, and moreover that it didn't work many times before it did!
And to be honest, I have never seen any magic merchant to sell skill books, mostly portions.
Would you think that its the latest patch thing? I don't know how it worked in the previous patches.

By Kistandalius at the Rivertown Market you get the most luck he's selling a skillbook .
But there are more NPC's to check, even a NPC that do not look like a merchant .. in fact, with most NPC's you can open the trade window . wink

But I specially look for equipment items (rings, amulets, leggings, gloves, etc) - rather than searching for skillbooks - that have a bonus to a skill, sometimes 2 different skills on one piece get a bonus smile .

Good luck wink

Of all time I played Divine Divinity I only managed to buy 2 skill books of the merchants, and still finish the game just fine smile
