I don't have a strong preference for camera perspective (between isometric and third person), but another RPG with a dragon knight character would pretty much have to be third person, since that suits flight much better. IMNSHO it would be a shame if Larian didn't eventually make another such RPG.
Original Sin uses an isometric camera because that allows much more world interaction. It wasn't a question of budget (the same game engine is being used for Dragon Commander).
Divinity – Original Sin revealed !Larian mentioned awhile ago (
here) that there could be a console version of Dragon Commander, if financial backing was secured. I don't know if changes and additions to the game since then (
Land Ahoy) make a console version any more or less likely.
Recently Larian asked if there was any interest in controller support for Original Sin (
Good isometric RPGs with controller support?); if added, that would allow a console version of the game.
