Sorry if this is a frustrating question that is asked all the time or whatever.

I am interested in buying Divinity II but there seems to be a few different versions.

Wikipedia says the game was first released as Ego Draconis.
Then there was an updated version called The Dragon Knight Saga.
And then there is Divinity II: Developer's Cut
Finally, there is a DLC called Flames of Vengeance.

So, what I am after is a short explanation of what I should buy and why, please.

Would it be silly to buy Ego Draconis as it is not the updated version?

On Steam the Developer's Cut is £12.99
http://store.steampowered.com/app/219780/

Does this include the rerelease known as The Dragon Knight Saga? And if I bought the Developer's Cut, could I later buy the DLC and add it to the Steam game?

Thanks for any help.

Get the Developer's Cut, it's the most recent and includes all of the content, including Flames of Vengeance.

I think Larian should have called Divinity2: Developer's Cut Divinity2: The Dragon Knight Saga - Developer's cut.

I can see why newcomers to the game series are confused by the different versions + add-ons that are only available in certain countries.

DKS is the original release of D2:ED (with a few tweaks and changes) plus the add-on FoV.
The Developer's Cut is essentially DKS with an optional Developer Mode cheat window (see the blog post Hatching the Anthology).

Perhaps. Or how about "The Divine Ego Developer's Saga Part 2"? It has a certain something-or-other. laugh
