Quickly copy pasting swen's post from facebook here, while we get ready to go to the next event:

Have fun reading 2 of the first hands-on experiences!

"We have two hands-on reports rolling in. A very detailed one courtesy of PCGMedia  http://pcgmedia.com/divinity-dragon-commander-preview/  and a blog from the orginazers of Insomnia (Lan party)  http://iseries.multiplay.co.uk/2013/02/28/general-news/gaming-blog-divinity-dragon-commander/ "

Got a few questions for you guys, and also thanks for all the new info, this game is turning out amazingly

Q- Just read that there will be only 13 units on the map is this single units or groups of units like the total war series, and I know you can build more but what’s the unit cap if there is one?

Another

Q- Can you upgrade your ship base? And can your base ship participate in battles?

One more

Q- Are all of the land units robots or will we see soldiers on the battlefield

Thanks in advance

Edit- got another one

Q- is the over world map static or randomly generated, and if not how many provinces does it have?

I believe that is 13 types of units (with over 60 possible upgrades). I don't know if there is a cap on the number of units.

One of the images I saw in the youtube video showed 21 units selected at once. That was just tab 1. There were 4 other tabs visible, and there was space for up to 8 tabs. so I'm guessing the unit cap is between 84-168.

The important thing to realise here is that there are around 60 upgrades that can be applied to the units and that the opposition doesn't necessarily know what you are upgrading (but likewise, you don't know what the opposition is doing either). Some of these upgrades might be temporary, some of them might be permanent. It makes combat very dynamic.

>>Q- Can you upgrade your ship base? And can your base ship participate in battles? <<

No

>>Q- Are all of the land units robots or will we see soldiers on the battlefield<<

We don't really think of them as robots - there's humans in there.

>>Q- is the over world map static or randomly generated, and if not how many provinces does it have? <<

There are different campaign maps that have been hand-made. It think it's likely that eventually we'll come up with a random generator.

As far as unit caps are concerned - there is a natural cap due to the maximum population of a country. When we'll be done with our press tour we'll release a walkthrough video which should explain that mechanic in detail.

Dragon Commander will at least be available through Steam and GOG (and presumably the Larian Vault). No details have been mentioned yet about any pre-orders, AFAIK. With the retail release there was mention of a plan to have a limited edition which included a board game.

Will the single-player campaign map clearly differentiate between the territories native to different races? This might be important to know if your decisions are really unpopular with one race, you may wish to seek another path to victory that avoids their territories and potential revolts.

Gotta give your art department credit the units and maps look amazing, and in one of the videos Stabbey I think the map was different colors so that might be the way different races are represented like dwarven provinces are green, but just a guess.

btw did rps play the game after or before the dragon was made stronger? and if not how much stronger do you plan on making the dragon?

Hey when are you guys gonna update the website with more councilors, generals, and princesses? Will it be updated weekly, monthly, or is their no time frame?

I must agree with Demi above me, while it is no great priority it would certainly comfort the fans to know what concepts are on the table. We are about 3 months away from the proposed release of the game - surely there are a few tidbits set in stone that could be released without fear of having it changed on the fly. The Councilors, Princesses and Generals would be very interesting reads.

I have already developed a liking of Edmund just from the gameplay footage, the cynical, racist blue-blood that he is wink
