me and my buddy hang out on the weekends
or sometimes i may force my wife play games with me.. (she is not very good)

and we play mostly co-op games that are split screen.
(serious sam, resident evil, left4dead )

as of recent we picked up playing Laura croft guardian of light
(isometric puzzle game with 2 heroes and locally played on same screen) and Trine 1-2 and stuff..

i do not wanna gonna go out of my way to buy another computer for my buddy who comes over twice a week.

should i let my buddy know to look forward to this game?(he is a big fan of the original divinity game and i who loved dragon saga more then skyrim) will it offer local co-op?

might end up setting up Vmware local dual screen monitor co-op.
(dont want to do this.. many games don't work very well this way for us)
just wanted to ask..

thankyou

Welcome to the forum gourav and your buddy too wink

A good question you asked about split screen !

I'm more than 100% sure your buddy will like it playing div Original Sin because of his love for Divine Divinity ! Original Sin with turn based combat will not be the same as DD combat wise (and some other aspect I believe), but many great stuff of DD will be back in Original Sin, and even better, I'm sure !!

DKS IS indeed better than Skyrim if you like the style of a Larian RPG ! ME know it, me played both games now a long time ... especially the skills, quests & combat in DKS I love much more than in Skyrim !
To be short:
Buy Divinity Original Sin on relaese date
Then see, feel, hear, taste, smell ...
And let us know how you love this Gem !
wink

On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin,
it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

I don't recalle Larian mentioning anything about split-screen but yes, local coop via LAn will be possible.

The plan is to get the game optimized to run on as many laptops as possible (since many households don't have 2 gaming desktops), but the minimum specifications have not been determined yet. There are also small desktop PCs designed to be portable (for LAN parties, etc), which would more powerful and probably cheaper than a laptop.
Would your buddy use a portable computer enough to justify getting one?

In any case, you should definitely let him know about the game, so he can get in on the kickstarter and tell all his other friends about the game. biggrin

Well if you were a big fan of DD wouldn't you want to know Larian was making D:OS and at least be able to check out the kickstarter so you could decide if you wanted to back it or just wait for the release?

Also, if he did decide a portable computer would be worth getting, if he knows about the game now it wouldn't take much money being set aside each month to be able to afford one when the game is released (or just before, when there are sales for the start of the school year).

yeah i will let him know this weekend. just been busy with work.

If my friend wont get a portable laptop soon.. i might end up buying him one for his birthday this year just so we can play games together.

I agree on the part about making it run on many computers as possible... it is in isometric view so, i am expecting it to be not very graphic intensive.

You'd be surprised at how relatively taxing isometric games can get. Path of Exile managed just barely on my old desktop running an i5 and a piece of garbage 5450.
