i found a lot of rope earlier in game.
i left to go do things and a friend play for a little while as he did some side quests for me.
I was having problems with inventory and didn't want to manage it properly so i let him do it. and he deleted all the stuff classified as "junk"

Rope is classified as "junk"

--so, there was this guy in this side mission who was stuck in a pit and wanted some rope to climb out. I kinda promised him with hope "I would come back for you"

and then we just kept playing and didn't find any rope.
....then the world ended. (point of no return and move on to and become and dragon!)
frown

so yeah..
that poor guy just.. kinda .. died in the hole all alone.

anyone else did something like this and felt odd about it for 2+ years now.
times i wake up at night wondering for that poor guy.. SHOULD HAVE GONE BACK! but i didn't.. hahaha

Hi,

I can understand your feelings of sadness about the hunter in a pit hole of a Big Troll !
hug
I'm thinking: maybe it was possible to buy any rope by a vendor ? But don't know for sure there is a vendor selling a rope in Broken Valley ... think ?

I for me had sadness about one action & I promised myself to never do that again:
betray the Seekers by Louis, saying him the Seekers have told me about Louis trapdoor nearby the Chapel is often unlocked !
Then Louis send the Seekers out on a mission impossible: try to kill an enormous Troll ! eek

So next time I don't tell Louis the Seekers told me ... I don't like it to be a betrayer, it's more than sad enough Commander Rhode named me a "betrayer" when I met her and the other Dragon Slayers at the entrance of the Maxos Temple after Talana get in my mind. biggrin

On 7th of february 2015 : I start a new adventure in the Divinity world of Original Sin,
it's a Fantastic Freaking Fabulous Funny ... it's my All Time Favorite One !

Read his mind...

"There are no atheists in foxholes" quote comes to mind here as he's praying to the Divine promising that he'll go to Church forever afterwards if he gets out of the hole.

It's these little touches that make me love Larian dialogue.
